Lowell School District Newsletter
March 2019
A Message from Mr. Matthews

I would like to thank the many hardworking staff members who jumped into action as soon as the snow started falling. There were also countless community volunteers that jumped in as well — from people plowing roads and driveways, to serving hot meals, to driving stranded residents into town for a warm place to stay. I am extremely proud of the way our community responded. Once things are back to normal, we will continue to refine our schedule for the upcoming groundbreaking of the bond projects that should begin sometime in late May/early June.

I can't believe the school year is moving so quickly! Just like Lowell, our students are on the move!

I am tremendously proud of our students with special shout outs to wrestling and Lowell Brass for their pursuit of excellence and representing us at the state levels.

Lowell Wrestlers Take State Honors!

The Lowell Wrestling Team really made us proud this season with their placing 3rd in the 2019 State Championships!! Not only did the team place 3rd, two of our wrestlers placed as well.

Taking 1st place the second year in a row was Kasey Erwin at 132 lbs and senior Symon Thurman taking 1st at the 120 lbs weight class.

Additional medal winners included Sebastian Garcia at 160 lbs taking 3rd and Tyson Brasfield at 132 lbs taking 4th place. Any Kintzley at 285 lbs had a great showing.

These young men train very hard every day and we are so pleased to acknowledge their success!
