THE RELEVANT RECAP
Dear Chamber & Community Friends,
We are feeling positive about our trip to Austin this week. The Flood Legislation team primarily comprised of Houston Northwest Chamber members met with six legislative offices including:
Braden Kennedy of Sen. Brandon Creighton's office, Ms. Montana Cortez of Sen. Lois Kolkhorst's office, Zachary Stephenson of Rep. Will Metcalf's office, and of course, Rep. Harless, Rep. Oliverson and Rep. Swanson. Our message was that of supporting the position and legislation originating in the Senate by Kolkhorst, Perry and Creighton, supported by Houston Stronger that would bring $3 Billion in flood recovery and mitigation dollars to Texans. The important piece is that this money would enable communities to leverage federal money many times that amount. Download the Chamber Alliance of North Houston Chambers Legislative Position Paper. The Chamber is harboring concern over discussion we hear about in Harris County Commissioner's Court about some Commissioners and Judge Hidalgo wanting to "re-prioritize" the projects that we voted on in the 2018 County Flood Bond package. We have mailed letters voicing this concern to four commissioners and the judge. View the letter to Judge Hidalgo HERE .

Sincerely,
Barbara Thomason
President

THE POWER OF A BRAND:
One Bus Stop at a Time

Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Ford Motor Company, Budweiser, and the list goes on.

Corporations around the globe spend billions of dollars every year building and promoting their brand. The mere mention of their names generates a visual and more importantly an emotional connection to their logo, symbols (i.e. Budweiser’s Clydesdale horses), and their products. If executed properly, collectively all these associations and images create a unique identity, one that sets them apart from their competition...
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
We are delighted to continue adding to our growing Chamber membership. If you haven't met these new and returning members yet at a Chamber networking event, we encourage you to click on their names below and welcome them to the community!
