2019-20 Financial Aid Application Reminder

Now is the time to apply for financial aid by completing the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Application by the deadline of March 2!

Students who are eligible to file a FAFSA should complete and submit one online at www.studentaid.gov .  
 
Alternately, you can complete your FAFSA using the NEW myStudentAid mobile app. Download the app in the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) 

 
 
If you submit your application after March 2, your financial aid file will be late and you will not be eligible for some grants, loans and work-study!
 
Students who are not eligible to file a FAFSA and who qualify for the AB540 fee exemption should complete and submit the online California Dream Application at www.csac.ca.gov/dream_act.asp.

It's Scholarships Season at UCI!

Now is also the time to start searching and applying for scholarships for next year.  The   2019-20 UCI online scholarship application is currently open.
 
Continuing undergraduate students can apply for scholarships ranging from $500-$10,000 based on academic achievements, service, research experience, career goals and other special skills or interests. Parents can encourage their students to apply for UC Irvine scholarships by the March 25 deadline.
 
Applying online is simple
  1. Login to "My Aid" at www.ofas.uci.edu.
  2. Select Fall 2019 through Summer 2020 and then Scholarships.
  3. The scholarships for which your student is minimally qualified for have been pre-selected.
  4. Complete one application to be considered for all eligible scholarships or submit separate applications for each scholarship.
  5. Application deadline: March 25, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.
Searching & Applying for External Scholarship Opportunities
 
Students are encouraged to search and apply for external scholarships. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships has compiled a catalog of external scholarships that are offered through private agencies and organizations. The catalog will be continuously updated and new scholarships will be posted when they become available.

Interviews, internships and alumni advice

The Division of Continuing Education is excited to offer Big Interview to the UCI community to help users interview with confidence.
  • View training videos related to interview preparation and best practices
  • Explore the extensive "Question Library" including general topics, industry-specific questions and admissions interviews for graduate school, medical school, law school and more
  • Prepare expertly crafted responses with the "Answer Builder" tool
  • Perfect delivery by recording a virtual interview: viewers can record and view their answers and can share a video link with contacts outside the platform
Students can submit a virtual mock interview for feedback from a Career Pathways team member by visiting the "Assignments" section and entering code 8560ba. After recording their answers to four questions, feedback will be sent via email.
