  Out of district residents may register Thursday, February 27.  A valid library card is required for each registrant.  Programs with fees must be registered for in person at the Circulation Desk.  No online registration will be permitted for these programs.

Budget Information
The Annual Library Budget Vote is Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 12 noon until 9 pm. Voting will be for two purposes: to vote on the Library Budget for 2020-2021 and to elect one trustee whose term will commence on July 1, 2020.

Petitions for nominating candidates for the office of trustee will be available from the District Clerk of the Babylon School District, 50 Railroad Avenue, Babylon, NY, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. when school is in session and must be filed with the District Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on March 9, 2020.

A copy of the budget will be available beginning March 17, 2020

Honor and Memorial Program
Books honor the memory of loved ones, living or deceased, and serve as living tributes that enrich the community.  Whether celebrating a birthday, anniversary, holiday or congratulating a friend, the Babylon Public Library Honor and Memorial Program allows you to honor a special someone by making a donation in their name.  A commemorative bookplate  will be placed inside the book's cover.  This can be a onetime or perpetual donation.  If you are interested in this program, please see the Reference Librarian for more information.

Teens will create welcome kits for shelter adopters, filled with some of the most-needed items for cats and dogs, accompanied by personalized thank you cards. One hour of community service is offered.   Registration is currently ongoing for students entering Grades 5-12. 
Mondays, April 6, 13, 20, 27
6:30 - 8:30 PM
Learn study skills to improve your SAT grades. April 6th and 13th will be held at the WEST ISLIP PUBLIC LIBRARY, and April 20th and 27th at the BABYLON PUBLIC LIBRARY.   A non-refundable fee of $85.00, payable to Chris Murphy, is due upon registration at either library.    Please check with your child's guidance counselor to ensure that your child is ready to take the SAT course, as NO refunds will be given.  Registration is ongoing at the Circulation Desk. 
Wednesday, April 29
3:30 - 6:30 PM
Teens will learn the skills necessary for the responsibility of being a sitter. This class is geared towards those in Grades 6 - 10. This program will teach you about child safety, developmental stages, and age-appropriate activities. You will be given a Course Certificate upon completion; students must stay for entire session to receive certificate.   A non-refundable fee of $5.00 is due at registration.  R egistration begins March 12th at the Circulation Desk. A minimum of 8 participants is required to hold this class.
The Library now has one study room available for Babylon card holders on a first come, first served basis.  There is a 2 hour limit to use the room and you must sign in at the Reference Desk.
The Library does not allow tutoring on the main floor.  During March, we will attempt to set aside a room for tutoring, when possible, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 8:30 PM,  and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM- 4:30 PM.  Please call ahead to confirm. 
NOTE:  The library is glad to provide reasonable accommodations for patrons with special needs.  Please call us two weeks prior to a program to make arrangements.
