Warrior PATHH Update:
Exciting things have been happening this month regarding the upcoming launch of the Warrior PATHH program!

  • We are continuing to make progress on our Leon Irons Lodge. The wooden logs are already on property and will be making the lodge a true "log cabin" before we know it!

  • We are starting to collect a list of items that we need in the kitchen, lodge, and other areas of the property to make the 7-day Warrior PATHH experience the best it can be for our service members. If you would like to donate any of the items, we have a registry! Click the following link to check out what's on our list: Big Red Barn Retreat Registry
Healing Lens is headed to Soda City!
Join us on March 14 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. as we check out Soda City Market! Our Healing Lens photography program is doing another scavenger hunt this year, but this time with a twist! Participants will fan out across Soda City Market searching for the most creative way to spell "BIG RED BARN RETREAT." The letters found must be a combination of red, white and grey, our BRBR logo colors. No computer editing allowed. If you don't have editing software to put the letters together, that's okay! Jim Dukes, our Director of Healing Arts, will help you out.

Our Healing Lens group is open to active duty military, veterans and their families. If you have any questions, please contact Jim Dukes at [email protected]. For more information, click the link: Healing Lens Scavenger Hunt
Still Want to Try Beekeeping? Now's Your Chance!
On Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. come learn about beekeeping at the Barn!

About three-fourths of the world’s food crops depend on pollination and more than 40 percent of invertebrate pollinators – bees and butterflies – are facing extinction. If you’ve ever wanted to keep bees, there is no better time to begin! Whether you’re keen to learn all of the basics to get you started, or extremely interested in the idea of keeping bees, this 1-day interactive course taught by Scott Derrick, a Navy Veteran and Owner/Operator of the Blythewood Bee Company, will teach you the fascinating secrets of the honeybee and how to keep bees in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. This beekeeping workshop is packed full of the essential information to leave you confident about one of the most enjoyable (and oldest!) past times.

This workshop is FREE for Veterans and active duty or retired service members. Space is limited, so you MUST sign up if you plan to attend.

The workshop will meet at the white building located at the front of the BRBR property (the yoga building). For more information, you can contact Scott Derrick with Blythewood Bee Company at (803) 754-7577 or visit their website at www.blythewoodbeecompany.com
