March 2020 Prayers
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3
Week 1: March 1-7
Pray for calm in the face of the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus). Pray for the involvement of faith and lay leaders in churches to share fact-based information. 
Encourage sharing of evidence-based resources such as this brief video on prevention from WHO and this 3-hour WHO course for health workers.

Pray for people in Zambia affected by gas attacks. Pray for our colleagues at the Churches Health Association of Zambia ( CHAZ) as their travel is limited due to the attacks. Pray for an end to the attacks and to the counter attacks so normal travel and health and business operations can resume. More

Pray for all in northern Nigeria after attacks on February 21 on churches, including an
Anglican Church, Living Faith Church, the technical school of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, as well as attacks on a hospital, police station, military barracks, other facilities and houses of believers. Pray for families of men, women and children killed and kidnapped. Prayers of thanks for the believers who attended regular Sunday church services only two days later. 
Week 2: March 8-15
March 8 is  International Women’s Day. Pray for equality for women and empowerment for girls to fulfill their potential, and be free to use the talents and gifts God gave them. 

Pray for a training team from Wise Choices for Life traveling from Uganda by bus to Rwanda to train a group of 20 from Bethel Rwanda. Pray for safety in travel across borders that have often been closed and unpredictable. 
Week 3: March 16-23
Prayers of thanks for Christians in India and Pakistan caring for those in need. Praise for the work of the Christian Medical Association of India and the Christian Hospitals Association of Pakistan and their member facilities. Prayers of thanks for Dr. Priya John of CMAI and Dr. Dr. Ashchenaz Lall of CHAP for their commitment and sharing their work and partnerships in a CCIH webinar 

March 22 is World Water Day. Pray that health care facilities have clean water and proper sanitation, a necessity in health care. Prayers of thanks for the work of  Global Water 2020 to advocate for water access and security for all people in majority world countries. 
Week 4: March 24-31
March 24 is World TB Day. Tuberculosis (TB) is found in every country in the world. It is the leading infectious cause of death worldwide. The World Health Organization estimates that 1.8 billion people—close to one quarter of the world's population—are infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb), the bacteria that causes TB. Pray for greater awareness and understanding of how to end TB

Praise to God that new solar batteries for the Shirati Hospital in Tanzania solar project arrived in Dar es Salaam. Pray for the release of the batteries so they can be installed at Shirati Hospital, to provide the power the hospital needs to continue to function and treat patients.
