Note From The Principal
We are continuing to implement our school mission of achieving high levels of learning for all students. To accomplish this we have been working diligently to provide quality instruction in all settings. On a daily basis students can be seen engaging with content in meaningful ways that connect learning to real life situations. Along with this we provide additional support to students who have not yet demonstrated mastery of essential learning after initial teaching. Through this approach we are continuing to see large amounts of growth.

We appreciate your support through this process. We all want to see students succeed, make meaningful connections, explore new interests, and be ready for their future. The more we can bridge the gap and help students see the school, family, and the community as partners in learning, helps us to realize these outcomes.

We have a great chance to build some community coming up. I hope you can join us for the staff vs. parent’s basketball game on March 11th. This should be a fun evening for all! We will also be working with families to develop plans for the 6th grade celebration. Information on these events and more can be found below.

Please reach out to the school if you have any questions or concerns. I appreciate this community and know that together we will continue to make positive growth.

Positivity Project
For the month of March we will be focusing on the concept of cheering others’ success. Through this we will explore what it means to be socially intelligent. We will also look at ways to foster a love of learning, exercise fairness, and have humor. Please take a few minutes to discuss these important character traits with your student.

“I think we all have empathy. We may not have enough courage to display it.” ~Maya Angelou

Art News
Our journey through recent art history has brought us to paint!

We have started a material many of our kids were excited for… PAINT! At the moment our students are just finishing up their still life project inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
We are going to continue to explore paint as we go into our next project inspired by the “Pop Art King” Andy Warhol!

If students would like to bring in an art smock or old t-shirt to use while we paint they are more than welcome to leave it in the art room.
