Greetings!

We are living through an unprecedented moment and one that is filled with great uncertainty and fear. I urge all of us to remain calm and to stay connected. We will get through this as a community and a society at large.

Following is some relevant information to keep you informed. Things are changing frequently, and I will continue to provide updates as they come to me from the County Department of Health and the County Board of Supervisors.

PUBLIC NOTICE
TOWN HALL IS CLOSED TO PUBLIC
 For the safety of our town employees due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, Hillsdale Town Hall and the Town Garage are closed to the public. Town Hall staff members will continue to work, so can you reach them by email, phone, or mail. Our Highway Department is working a regular schedule and taking precautions as advised by the State. We are so grateful to all Town employees for their hard work. Some things to note:

  • No walk-in traffic will be permitted at Town Hall.
  • As Town Courts have been cancelled by Governor Cuomo, Hillsdale Town Court is canceled on March 18 and April 15.
  • Please consult the Town Directory if you need to reach the Town Clerk, Court Clerk, Assessor, Building Inspector, Supervisor, or members of the Town Board. All telephone calls and emails will be returned promptly.
  • Please use the mail slot at the front door of Town Hall if you have anything to drop off.
  • The County Clerk has postponed the first quarter KISS (Shredding) program until further notice.
Update from Columbia County
Department of Health
As of 3 pm, March 18, 2020, Columbia County has: no positive cases of COVID-19; eight individuals under mandatory quarantine; and 51 individuals under precautionary quarantine. The County has received 46 test results completed for Columbia County residents, all with negative results.
 
Testing for COVID-19 remains strict as resources are limited. Symptoms for testing include the following: fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you think you have been exposed to COVID‑19, please call your healthcare provider or the CMH Hotline: 518-828-8249. If you are seriously unwell, please call 911.
