” at work! Research has shown playing activities at work can help to reduce, fatigue, stress, boredom, and in some cases improve creativity, increase social connectedness, endorphins, oxygen and blood flow to the brain.

- An assortment of board games for teams of 2-6 participants
- Creative arts and painting – freestyle or join a guided session led every hour at 11:30am and 12:30pm

- Healthy Snacks – featuring empanadas by El Meson (while samples last), prizes from Under Armour, Games of Berkeley and more…

I CAN! Commit to Activity and Nutrition
For those that want to jumpstart a new healthy lifestyle, this free 5-week program will equip you with the skills you need to get started. I CAN! is an interactive program that includes nutrition and fitness assessments, a hands-on cooking class and grocery tour, and weekly group workouts with a certified personal trainer. Don’t think about how many other times you’ve promised to do this for yourself – this time just say I CAN!

The Be Well at Work Healthy Department Certification program, now in its second year, successfully launched in Fall 2018 with the goal of creating sustainable, healthy workplace communities where faculty and staff are more engaged, energized, and empowered to lead a healthy lifestyle and prevent injury and illness at work.

These hearty plant-based enchiladas are a freezer friendly meal. You can double the recipe to make one batch for now and another for later. They are a complete meal with plenty of colorful veggies, protein-rich beans, whole grain tortillas, and topped with a little avocado, a healthy fat.

Don't Toss That: Creative Uses for Food Scraps

Minimize your kitchen waste and get more bang for your buck by utilizing food scraps that you would normally toss (into the compost, of course!). Fruit and vegetable peels, overripe fruit, and other food scraps can be revitalized into new dishes. Demonstration, recipes, and samples provided.

Presented by Daphne Miller, MD, this webinar will really open your eyes about our food system, agriculture, and the important connection to health. Dr. Miller is the founder of the Health from the Soil Up Initiative, a clinical professor at UCSF, a project scientist at UC Berkeley, and the author of two books, The Jungle Effect and Farmacology.

Breastfeeding Your Baby / Returning to Work or School

The first two hours cover breastfeeding basics and problem solving. The last hour covers returning-to-work planning and breast pumps.

National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month! Be Well at Work offers lots of programs and resources for eating well at work (and home!):
- Sample and learn to make nutritious recipes at our Cook Well Berkeley demos, and find all of the dietitian-approved recipes on our webpage.
- If you have a specific nutrition question, you can Ask the Dietitian.
- Learn more about certain topics on your own time with our recorded webinars.
- You CAN jumpstart a healthy lifestyle with the I CAN program in April, which includes nutrition classes, a hands-on cooking class, and an informative grocery store tour, along with group workouts and fitness testing.
