MARCH 2020
love note
with marlene
This popular sweater is just the perfect layer for the upcoming spring weather. Top down with fun lacework and a looser gauge for drape. Can be knit in many different yarns or a combo of lightweight yarns together or with a strand of mohair. Lots and lots of possibilities.
You'll get together to start off with a provisional cast on and then start your neck increases. The next week, you'll work on lace and any problem-solving you need, then you'll continue on your own. We'll discuss whether to schedule a follow-up class a few weeks out. The pattern is by Tin Can Knits.
Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm, March 11 & 18 $24.
woolly wee sheep!
with nancy
We knitters like our sheep. This is a cute pattern from Churchmouse Yarns that you can make in various yarn weights. I'm making a really BIG one, and Nancy's making a tiny one! There is no seaming, and can be made on double-pointed needles or two circulars. You might need a flock!
Saturdays 10-11:30am, March 14 & 21 $24

This is a project where "anything goes". Originally done in sock yarn, you could use any weight. It is a great stash-buster and would be such fun to make in all your leftover sock yarn. ("leftie", get it!!?) Once you start, it can grow to whatever size you like. Nancy has made some nifty modifications that will make it even easier to knit. Pattern by Martina Behm.
Thursday 6:30-8:30pm, March 19 $16.

A medium weight style that looks good on almost anyone. Crochet lends itself beautifully to hats, keeping the shape nicely, while still soft. Only basic crochet skills are necessary! This pattern is from Kathryn Merrick.
