COVID-19 has impacted our lives from our workspaces to homes and everywhere in between. As we spend more time inside, interior design services in public and residential areas are essential to keep you, your colleagues, your customers, and your families safe.

The value of face-to-face interaction cannot be underestimated, especially within public spaces like corporate offices, restaurants, retail stores, government buildings, and more. As our world transitions to a blended environment of both face-to-face and virtual interactions, many entities can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and achieve their goals by innovating their current spaces to maximize the health, safety, and overall wellness of the buildings’ occupants, while continuing to function, grow, and contribute to society.

Our home environments are also critical to our individual health and wellbeing. Although many people are working from home, intensive remodeling and reconstruction is not necessary to protect the health and safety of yourself or your family.

Every day, homeowners and business owners are engaging qualified interior designers to change their spaces to conform with state government, World Health Organization, CDC, and other COVID health guidelines.

Designers are playing an ever-increasing role in the rollout of a potential coronavirus vaccine. Despite popular thinking that it will be like a common flu shot, each pharmaceutical company’s vaccine will have specific storage requirements and vaccination facilities will have strict protocols for patient queuing, movement, and monitoring. Qualified interior designers will be essential in addressing the following:
ASID Appellation and Personal Logo Usage Guidelines

The ASID Appellation is the ultimate designation of professionalism and ethical practice to clients, employers, and the design community. Your membership entitles you to use the appellation in your email signature, website, business cards, letterhead, and when being interviewed or receiving recognition. The ASID appellation represents your dedication and expertise to the highest standards of excellence in design.

  • Students and Allied members are permitted to have the word “member” in their appellation (Ex. John Doe, Allied Member ASID).

  • List ASID first in cases of multiple appellations (Ex. John Doe, ASID, LEED AP)

  • The membership designations must be spelled out completely. (Note: "of the American Society of Interior Designers" may be substituted for "ASID"). No modification or deviation is permitted.

  • The appellation for professional members and the designations for other members may be used only in conjunction with the member's own name.

  • Members may not utilize any form of the name of the Society or the ASID appellation in conjunction with a firm name, even where the member's name is encompassed in the name of the firm.

  • A member may in no way imply, through advertising or other means, that employees of his or her staff or firm are members of ASID unless that is in fact the case, and then they may be identified only by the appellations or designations consistent with their status in ASID.

  • Members may not use the official ASID logo in any manner. Improper logo usage is a violation of the Society’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

(ASID members
may NOT
use this logo)
  • Professional members in good standing may use the ASID Professional Member logo. Industry Partners may use the Industry Partner Logo.

  • If your ASID membership has lapsed, you are no longer able to use any ASID appellation or the ASID logo, among other benefits. ASID strictly enforces this regulation and performs audits.

All ASID members agree to abide by the Society’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. For questions e-mail to

ASID California Central | Nevada Chapter is partnering with the Malouf Foundation on their Rooms Restored program. It's for children who have been physically or sexually abused in their homes. The perpetrator is usually someone the child knows—whether it’s a parent, sibling, or another family member.

As designers we are uniquely positioned to help these children. A child’s bedroom should be a be a place of comfort, a place of hope, a place to call their own—and we can offer that through our time, commitment, and expertise.

We are looking for donations of kid and teen bedroom furnishings, including headboards or complete bed frames, bedside tables, dressers, rugs, lamps, art and accessories. We have a location to collect and store items in Las Vegas, but we still need to find locations in other design communities. If you know of a place in your local area that these items can be stored until needed, please let us know.

If you are interested in donating items, or helping in your area, please reach out to Sandi Allan, Chapter Administrator, at or Kara Maas, Chapter President, at
