March 2021

A message from
Kim Vogt, President
Hello GRAPE Members,

As the old saying goes – March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. I am hoping for minimal lion and mostly a lovely little lamb for March, but who knows. I think we are accustomed to rolling with whatever comes our way and we will handle whatever March brings.

With the ringing in of 2021 and making our way through the first two months of the year, we are finally seeing some positive traction in the in dealing with this crazy thing called COVID. Our area numbers have dropped for positivity rate, hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID. The vaccine has been rolled out and while there are still many challenges with distribution and getting people who already qualify an appointment, we are moving in the right direction.

As always, our members are advocates for their customers, patients, clients and seniors in our community, but it has been at an elevated level since the pandemic. In that same vein, GRAPE continues to work to advocate on behalf of all the seniors in the community and our members. While we were disappointed that we could not hold our Legislative Town Hall, rest assured our Advocacy Committee has been hard at work planning the path forward in the important role GRAPE has in advocating for seniors.

As a reminder, all our committees can use new members. If you have an interest in any of the committees, please reach out to me or Carol and we can connect you with the right person. All committees meet monthly and it’s amazing to see how GRAPE works when you are involved in this way. We are also looking for new GRAPE members. Hopefully you have seen the emails about our refer a new member contest with the chance to receive a free membership and $50 gift card. Please let others know about GRAPE and the opportunities membership provides.

In closing, I’d once again like to thank all of you for your continued dedication and commitment to GRAPE.

All My Best,
Kim
