FROM THE DIRECTOR
Spring is here at All Saints School, which means we are preparing for the 18th Annual Art Fest à la Mode! This year’s Art Festival will take place safely outdoors with staggered attendance and Kona Ice on property. All of our children (including infants!) have submitted two pieces of artwork to be matted and displayed. The artwork will be hanging by class in the breezeway and surrounding outdoor hallways for you to enjoy and then take with you. This event is sure to be a treat!
On February 17th, Ash Wednesday began the 40 day period called Lent that takes us to Easter Sunday. The purpose of Lent is to make way in our hearts and our lives for the great events of Holy Week (the week before Easter) and Easter Sunday. The Easter story - Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection - is the story on which our faith rests. As an Episcopal school, we want to share these traditions and teachings with our Little Saints. Young children can understand Easter themes such as “coming to life” (blooming plants, butterfly life cycles, baby animals, etc.) and most importantly…how much God loves all of us and wants us to love each other!
Thank you to Priscilla Kunkel and Catherine Long for organizing an amazing Literacy Week. At the week’s end, we donated more than 75 books to Killarney Elementary and surrounding preschools. Most importantly, our Little Saints spent the week enjoying books with special people, which helps them associate reading with joy and relationship rather than stress and memorization.
Below you will find details about exciting and impactful things in the works here at All Saints School, including Rare Disease Day and our Brick by Brick Fundraiser. Enjoy!
With Love,
Emory

RARE DISEASE DAY
Rare Disease Day is a global initiative to raise awareness and generate action for rare disease funding and research - and has become a special part of All Saints School tradition. There are over 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease. Over 25 million of those impacted live in America, and some of those individuals have been, or are, members of our school community. With more than 7,000 rare diseases, many of which can be difficult and costly to diagnose, the reality is that we all likely know or love someone who has suffered, is suffering, or will suffer from a rare disease. So, please consider joining us in raising awareness and funding for this cause!
Our fundraising event (March 1-5) looks a little different this year.

- Check your little saint's backpack for details on how you can purchase a "Show Your Stripes" stuffed animal (100% of proceeds will be split evenly between the NUBPL Foundation and the National Organization of Rare Disorders).

LAUNCHING IN APRIL: BRICK-BY-BRICK PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER
For more than 20 years, our All Saints School playground has seen thousands of children flow in and out of its welcoming gates and been an integral part of developing each child's mind, spirit, and body. As you can imagine, after more than two decades of use, we have a significant need to replace our entire playground - from the flooring on up to the equipment at an estimated cost of over $100,000.
Next month we will be kicking off a major fundraiser to help replace our playground in the Summer of 2022.
We are offering the opportunity to forever memorialize your presence here at All Saints by purchasing an engraved brick that will be placed in our main breezeway walkway. In addition, we will be seeking monetary donations to support this monumental effort.
More details will be shared in the next few weeks, but in the meantime, we ask you to consider how your family can support the kickoff to our biggest fundraiser ever. To help us along, the All Saints Church Endowment has generously pledged to match our first $25,000 raised dollar-for-dollar!
If you have any questions, please e-mail our PTO Vice President, Maggie Rhine, at mjohnson1126@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your generous support of our special school and the sweet souls that play and learn here every day!
