Grantee Spotlight: Crystal Academy students receive Swimming Lessons
We love our partnerships with non-profits serving Coral Gables! One of our recent grants was to provide swimming lessons and water safety skills to children at Crystal Academy. Based in Coral Gables, Crystal Academy provides evidence-based therapies and individualized intervention for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental delays.
Merrick Society Member Moment: Paul Lowenthal
Paul Lowenthal, Merrick Society Member and Foundation Board Member, was recently elected to The Orange Bowl Committee for the 2021-22 year. The new class will play an integral role as the Orange Bowl will host the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 31, 2021, the 27th annual Orange Bowl Basketball Classic in December 2021, as well as numerous other sporting events and community activities throughout South Florida.

In addition to Paul’s service to the Community Foundation and the Orange Bowl Committee, he is the current Chairman of the Camillus House Board of Directors. Paul, and his wife Teresa, raised their three children in Coral Gables and continue to call the City Beautiful their home. They recently welcomed their first grandchild, a girl, to the family.

Congratulations Paul!
