Next time you’re thinking of staying in bed for no particular reason, think again. Climbing out of your warm, cozy bed can take willpower, especially if you’re feeling anxious or down in the dumps. But it’s worth making the effort for all sorts of reasons. Here are five irresistible reasons to get up in the morning if you need a little encouragement.
It’s important not to underestimate how much you’re needed. A friend might be in need of your company, or a relative might need your support in some way. Someone you know may be hoping you’ll get in touch, and with a simple call or text, you could make their day.
- Your loved ones deserve it
Think how your loved ones would feel, if they knew you were struggling so much you were unable to get out of bed. If you can’t keep going for your own sake, keep fighting for the ones you love.
There’s someone else you should consider, and that’s you. There’s a wonderful world awaiting you – blue skies and all sorts of other delights. Treat yourself to a delicious meal or simply blast your favorite music – whatever you’d enjoy most. Phone a friend and arrange a time and place for meeting. You deserve some fun in your day.
- A change of scenery can help you
If you stay in bed all day, your bedroom will be stuffy by bedtime and ironically, you’ll probably feel even more tired by the end of the day than in the morning. Open the windows for some fresh air and at least move to a different room once or twice throughout the day to get your blood pumping again and get rid of stale energy.
- You can make things happen
It’s all too easy to think nothing’s happening in your life so there’s nothing to get up for. But that won’t get you anywhere. Sometimes you have to get things moving yourself, and this could be one of those times. So don’t wait for a magic wand to wave itself; do the trick yourself. Take control of your day. It’s up to you.
