Dear Center for Irish Music supporters and students,
Happy Saint Paddy's Day season! In the virtual entertainment industry, instructors and students are busy shooting music videos for the IMDA's Pajama Party, dance school shows, and festivals across the country.
Thank you for showing enthusiastic support for CIM at Éigse CIM, A Virtual Gaela Event. On February 20th, over 400 fans tuned in, made home-cooked meals and enjoyed our 2-hour show - a hearty celebration of Irish traditional music education - with live musical performances by Danny Diamond, Brian Miller, Anna Lethert and Todd Menton, emceeing by Máirtín de Cógáin, and a stellar silent auction.
In the bustle of the evening, I did not announce our decision to take a year off the Timothy "Fitz" Fitzgerald awards. Today marks 11 years since he left this world. The tradition of celebrating outstanding musicians in our community in Fitz's honor will be revived at Éigse 2022.
After you sign up for your spring music class at CIM, be sure to purchase the two albums being released by CIM instructors this month:
- Mary Vanorny & John McCormick, with Brian Miller - In the Tap Room (virtual release party this Sunday at 6pm
- Danny Diamond & Brian Miller - Let Fly
Thank you, always, for being a part of the CIM community. We miss seeing you, and look forward to a time when we can all be together again in person.
Norah Rendell
Executive Artistic Director
Center for Irish Music

Thank you for a successful Éigse CIM, a Gaela Event!
|
|
Thank you to everyone who made Éigse CIM, a Virtual Gaela Event a success on February 20th! We weren't sure what to expect from our first ever virtual fundraising event, and we were blown away that so many of you showed up to support the Center for Irish Music.
Because of you, we surpassed our $40,000 goal and raised as much as we did at last year's record-breaking in-person event. Thank you for helping us hand down the tradition!
