March [2021]
March 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Everyone,

Well spring is almost here. We had a little taste of it last week and then winter returned with its chilly air and windy conditions. March is that transitional month where we can still experience the cold but you know warmer weather is just around the corner. After this winter, I know we are all looking forward to some relief. To say it has been a challenging time is an understatement. So much suffering, loss and hardships have occurred, and yet we are so resilient. In spite of all that we have been through, there have been good things that happened too.

A few of our members had babies being born. We congratulate all those new parents.

People are still opening up businesses, which is such a sign of fortitude and strength.

There are celebrations to honor accomplishments like Epic of Long Island, who is hosting their fund raiser/virtual cocktail party tonight, Thursday, March 18th @ 6:00-7:00 PM -please go to http://bidpal.net/epicgala to participate. They are having many great raffle gifts and a chance to win $10,000.00 and live auction.

We were sad to hear the retirement of Ken Bellafiore, of the Freeport Memorial library, he has been an such a huge supporter to our chamber. He will be greatly missed, and wish him many blessings on whatever he decides to do next. We welcome the new director Leeann Moltzen. She already was on our last zoom luncheon call contributing her time, energy and ideas. Thank you!

We are so grateful to all our members and appreciate your continued membership and support.

As you know, we moved into our new office in February and are settling in nicely here on 11 Richmond Street. We moved to a smaller location since we too have been impacted by the effects of COVID.
Although we are planning some fun events for the spring and summer, last year, we had to cancel our golf outing, canoe race, and other fund-raising events that support our community. We hope we can move forward this season with these and other activities.

We are still doing virtual directors’ meetings and luncheons, but are hopeful we can resume live ones starting in May.

Our next luncheon is schedule for Tuesday April 13th. Our speaker will be Councilman Chris Carini. Details will be sent out shortly.

If there is anything we can support you with, please let us know. We welcome your participation and look forward to better times.

Have a wonderful Passover and Easter.

Sincerely,
The Freeport Chamber
