As we start the new season, we are still challenged by some of the 2020 carryover which includes the impacts of Covid on manufacturing, lead times and freight. Now, we have the additional challenges added by the winter storm that hit the south in February. Resin plants were damaged or shuttered affecting PVC pipe and fittings supplies as well as HDPE and poly pipe. Two manufacturers have declared Force Majeure. Two copper smeltery plants were damaged or forced to close temporarily. Copper is already in high demand across the globe and is closing in on all time high prices.

What’s all this mean? We are seeing allocations of products and multiple price increases. If you are bidding projects, make sure you have current pricing and incorporate price increases into your bid. If you have a backlog of work or are going to be doing a large project in the next few months, reach out to your Territory Manager as soon as possible. This will give us time to start procuring the products you will need for when you need them.
.
We are doing our best to navigate the challenges and will keep an open line of communication with you as the spring season unfolds.
