New CITE Staff Member - Welcome Erin Clancy!
|
|
Erin recently joined CITE's team as a Contracts Specialist. Erin will be preparing, negotiating and reviewing educational privacy contracts between Vendors and Local Educational Agencies. Prior to joining CITE, Erin co-founded Ripley's Legal Solutions, which provides predominately remote legal document assistance. Erin's varied professional experience includes family law, estate planning, medical malpractice and personal injury. As a registered LDA and Certified Notary Public, Erin is a member of CALDA as well as the NNA. Erin's legal background has given her the analytical skills needed to ensure contractual compliance with the law as well as the ability to discover (and avoid) potential risks for Local Educational Agencies.
When she's not working, Erin can most likely be found spending time with her family or helping coach her son's baseball team. Erin enjoys racquetball, pickleball, escape rooms and board games. She is also a self-taught baker and was recognized to be one of the best bakers in the nation as a two-time competitor on Food Network's Cupcake Wars.

Misty is the Help Desk Manager at Modesto City Schools. She was kind enough to tell us a little about herself, her background, and her experience being a CITE member.
|
How long have you been in your current role and how did you get there?
"I am currently the Help Desk Manager for Modesto City Schools. In 2005, I began working for Modesto City Schools as an Account Technician I and soon realized my passion for technology with the help of a mentor that provided me a gateway to the technology department. I transitioned to the Technology Department (now known as Information and Education Technology Services) as a Computer Technician I and after two short years, I was promoted to Computer Technician II. In April of 2020, shortly after the start of the Pandemic, I was given the opportunity to be the department's first Help Desk Manager."

|
How long have you been a CITE member? What is your favorite memory from a CITE event?
"I became a CITE member in 2019 and attended my first conference in Anaheim. The rooftop CDW event was nothing short of amazing and part of my favorite memory. My favorite CITE memory would be attending the conference in 2021 for the first time in my new role of Help Desk Manager, which truly gives an entirely new perspective to the event. CITE conference was such an enjoyable event, and it was the first time in almost 2 years that we were able to collaborate face to face with our peers and vendors, even if we did had to wear masks!"
What do you do in your (limited) free time?
"I am an avid reader and when I have downtime I often have a book in my hands. One of the greatest joys and first introduction to being a leader was coaching travel softball for 10 years. The rewards of being a coach, a mom to the girls when needed, and an advisor whenever the team needed will always be carried with not only me but the girls I had the privilege of coaching. While I have always loved coaching, I have recently stepped down to enjoy being a mom to my 3 kids and watching them play the sports they love; softball, wrestling, swim, football, and volleyball. Moving into that last half of 2022 I will have even less free time, as I am starting school to further my education! Also, I am now a proud Navy mom, and I am traveling a lot more to see my son!"
Are there any special shoutouts you'd like to give to someone in your life or the CITE Community who has made a special impact on you?
"I have two, Russ Selken and Anthony Luna! Russ Selken is my CTO, and the reason I was able to attend CITE; he has encouraged me to get involved! Under his leadership, I have grown as a manager and a leader. Anthony Luna is the Site Technician Manager in our district. Together we co-manage our group of support technicians and I am extremely grateful to work alongside him."
