PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings NTMCA Members!
Welcome to March! Election season is in full swing, and many of you are busy planning for the May 7 election and preparing to welcome new elected officials. There is so much to know about elections, and keeping up with changing statutes and the detailed election calendar can be daunting for even the most experienced clerks.

This is one of the seasons when having a peer group like NTMCA is so important - to ask questions, share resources, and provide support to each other. Take advantage of the benefits that NTMCA membership offers - the listserv, monthly meetings (in-person and virtual), networking, and educational scholarships.

We'll have one more monthly meeting in April (virtual) and then we'll take a break in May for the election. Keep reading for other upcoming events and opportunities with NTMCA!

Sincerely, Christine Green, President
February Meeting Recap
Thank you to Trophy Club Town Governance Officer / Town Secretary Leticia Vacek for hosting the February 16 luncheon. Trophy Club Mayor Pro Tem Greg Lamont welcomed our group. Letty was also our featured speaker, presenting her professional experiences and success in implementing job efficiencies and improving systems within the clerk's office (Assessing Processes and Systems for Efficiency and Simplification). She spoke about establishing offsite records storage during her years with the City of San Antonio and also the unique situation of identifying and preserving historic city records. She implemented many of the same efficient processes in her current role in Trophy Club. Our group had a good discussion and question and answer session, too.

JOIN THE NTMCA LISTSERV!

The chapter listserv is up and running! This tool is available to NTMCA members to assist with research, questions, example documents and general help.

The NTMCA listserv supplements the TMCA statewide Google group by gathering information from local city secretaries and serving as a resource for our chapter. You can choose how you receive emails—digest version or real time.

Some recent topics discussed on the listserv include technology in the City Secretary's Office, social media policy, boards & committees applicant reception, and records storage of plans and plats.

HOW THE LIST WORKS
When you send an email to ntmca@gaggle.email, every member of the list will get the email. That's all there is to it.
