BAPTIST WOMEN IN MINISTRY
ANNUAL GATHERING
TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 2022
IN PERSON: Wilshire Baptist Church, Dallas, TX 12:00-3:00pm
ONLINE: Zoom, 12:45-2:45pm
Whether you will be able to participate in-person or online, we hope you are making plans to attend Baptist Women in Ministry's 2022 Annual Gathering on Tuesday, June 28! Registration for the in-person event will open on Thursday, March 24! The in-person event will begin with lunch at 12:00 and the presentation of our awards around the lunch tables. Worship will follow in the sanctuary beginning at 1:15pm.
Our preacher for the event will be Rev. Dr. Gina Stewart, Senior Pastor of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Stewart was installed as president of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Society during the 124th session in August 2021. She is the first woman elected to this position, and the first female president of a national African American Baptist mission agency or convention. Dr. Stewart earned degrees from the University of Memphis (BBA), Memphis Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Interdenominational Theological Center (DMin). She has won numerous prestigious awards including being inducted into the Martin Luther King Board of Preachers, Class of 2018.

Stay tuned for additional information coming up in the next several weeks!
We need your help to honor excellent mentors of women and churches who have taken bold actions to support women in ministry! This year we are receiving nominations for the 2022 Frankie Huff Granger Distinguished Mentor Award and the BWIM Church of Excellence awards through March 31. Please visit the pages linked below to find more information including award criteria, previous nominees, and nomination forms.
The third and final in our series of Zoom Ministry Search Conversations will be on Thursday, March 24, 12:30 EST / 11:30 CST. The discussion will consider the congregational ministry search process for women from the perspective of search committees. Featured guests are individuals who have recently served on senior pastor search committees who hired women -- Mandy McMichael, Assistant Professor of Ministry Guidance at Baylor University (Calvary Baptist Church, Waco, TX), and Lance Wallace, Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications in the University System of Georgia (Parkway Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA area).

Even if you didn't register for the first two conversations, you can still register today to participate in the last conversation of this series!
For the first 20 days of Women's History Month, we are working to add 20 new members to our Salome community of monthly donors! As of today, we just need 7 more donors to reach our goal by March 20.

The Salome community is named for a follower of Jesus, who ministered faithfully, witnessed the crucifixion and resurrection, and was called to proclaim the good news (Mark 15:40-41, 16:1). Though Mark remembered her in his gospel, she was overlooked by the other three writers. The Salome community of monthly donors comes alongside all those who are overlooked, including women in ministry like Salome, and seeks their peace and wholeness as Salome's name represents (from the Hebrew shalom).

Will you join the Salome community and become a monthly donor today?
BWIM is excited to host our third Book Club Zoom conversation in the month of April. Our featured book will be Red Lip Theology by Candice Marie Benbow. The author, Candice Benbow, will join us on April 20th. To learn more about Candice and this book, click HERE. Purchase your copy today and register below!

WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS
Each Wednesday Baptist Women in Ministry shares wellness photos of women ministers engaged in self-care activities. If you would like to share a self-care photo in 2022, send your pic and a brief description about how the activity helps your personal well-being to lynnbrinkley@bwim.info. Pictured here is Tambi Swiney, Spiritual Wellness Coordinator, The Next Door, Nashville, TN. Tambi writes, “Reading has been a primary means of self-care for me in 2021. I used my eyes to read half of the books pictured usually curled up in the red chair in my living room."

ORDINATIONS
We Want To Celebrate Your Ordination!

If you know a Baptist woman who has been ordained or will be ordained, please email names and pictures (if possible) to lynnbrinkley@bwim.info. BWIM wants to share in celebrating congregational affirmation of all women in ministry, and it helps us to keep records of all of the women in Baptist life who are ordained.

Reverend Shannon Speller (pictured), Minister of Children, Outreach, and Missions was ordained at Zebulon Baptist Church in NC on Sunday, February 27, 2021.

Danica Vaughn was ordained on Jan. 30 by First Baptist Church, Detroit, Michigan.
OPEN POSITIONS
Positions are listed by state, city, open position, church name. BWIM collects these openings from a wide variety of sources, and the degree of openness to women ministers among the listed churches varies. In its effort to advocate, network, and connect, BWIM provides this list as a resource to those searching for ministry positions.  Positions which are highlighted are from requests that came directly to BWIM.
