MY Voice to amplify workers' voices in palm and apparel sectors of Malaysia

SAI has launched a new project to address forced labor and child labor in the production of garments and palm oil in Malaysia. The project—MY Voice—builds on SAI’s experience implementing social compliance systems in supply chains and facilitating worker and community engagement and learning. It also integrates expertise from several partner organizations: Proforest, The Centre for Child Rights and Business, and Our Journey.

Living wage and living incomes: essential for CSR in global supply chains

A recent article by SAI, Rainforest Alliance, and the Accountability Framework Initiative discusses how companies can begin to pay workers in their supply chains a decent wage, including resources, like the Global Living Wage Coalition, and helpful tips to make the process feel less daunting to companies and their suppliers.

New Living Wage Updates


The Anker Research Institute, hosted by SAI, released several new living wage and living income reports over the last few weeks:

New Schedule for Living Wage and Living Income Updates


The Anker Research Institute will begin updating Anker living wage and living income Benchmark estimates on an annual basis starting in 2022. This change differs from previous years when estimates were updated every other year. These annual updates will account for inflation and are important to ensure that living wage and living income estimates (i.e., family living costs) continue to be sufficient for workers to afford a basic but decent standard of living.
