This has been a wonderful first year of building, coding, and collaboration for VEX robotics students at HRVHS! The school's seven VEX robotics teams had a great time competing March 12-13 at the VEX State Championship in Eugene, OR.
In the elite Platinum Division:
- $5 Footlong was ranked 18th
- Pyrotechnics were ranked 24th
In the open Gold Division:
- Banana Lords were ranked 3rd
- Thomas Gang was ranked 5th
- The Unnameables were ranked 6th
- MIG was ranked 12th
- Broken Pixel was ranked 14th

Leila Kaneda assumes leadership of the Gorge Women In STEM to support Maza Brady's transition to becoming a new parent! Maza founded and has led the group for the past five years. She has worked with Leila for the past year reenergizing the leadership and organization of the group as the pandemic recedes into the past. The GWIS and GTA communities wish to thank Maza for her active role in growing the Women In STEM, and wish her well in this new chapter of life.

Google is sponsoring a free 4 week Computer Science college prep 'bootcamp' type program! First-year college students from Oregon with a passion for technology are encouraged to apply. This four-week online introduction to computer science (CS) will take place July 11 - August 5, 2022.
Students will learn computer science fundamentals, participate in workshops to promote self-care, identity, career, skill development, and build community with peers and industry professionals.
