Sergey did not start hunting big game until 1996. In 2008, he moved from Russia to Italy and founded Yastrebfilm the following year while continuing to hunt worldwide (in 52 countries!). He now has over 260 entries in the SCI record book (with 105 in the Top 20).

HUNTING AWARDS
 
Colfradia Culminum Magister … also known as Master of the Summits, is an association that honors the merits of mountain hunting. Sergey was recognized in 2021 based on his collection of over 50 of the world's wild sheep, goats, and ibex.
 
The Conklin Award … was given to Sergey by the Conklin Foundation in 2022. It is named after Dr. James Conklin who was known for his toughness, determination, resolve, and caring; including in his hunting career. The Foundation counts only those big game animals which require one or more of the following to be successfully hunted: sweat, climbing, harsh conditions, danger, and overcoming fear. At the time of his selection, Sergey had collected 175 such animals! He was the 20th annual hunter to receive this award.

Via Yastrebfilm, Sergey has produced 70 documentaries exploring various indigenous peoples, disappearing traditions, unusual travel routes, as well as the following 13 films about the traditions of trophy hunting:

INVESTIGATIVE DOCUMENTARIES
Two of Sergey's documentaries have won prestigious awards at International Film Festivals:
 
           * Ivory, a Crime Story
           * Tigers and Humans
 
His latest documentary is "A Shot of Hope," which counters anti-hunting activism. It is about how properly organized wildlife management changes the everyday life of people for the better, adds to the state treasury, creates thousands of new jobs, and preserves wildlife (especially rare species).
