Moonlight Soiree
We are so excited about our Moonlight Soiree Gala!  We have an awesome DJ lined up to spin our favorite tunes and a silent auction that is sure to offer something for everyone.

Most of us will find this year’s location at Ivy Hall at 85 Mill Street in Roswell to be convenient and easy to get to.  There is ample, free parking and a parking attendant will be on hand to direct you.  (No valet service.)

We will begin the evening in the Brookside Room on the lower level for hors d-oeuvres and cocktails while you peruse the silent auction offerings.  A candlelight dinner and dancing will then begin upstairs.  There is bar service both downstairs and upstairs.  Each guest will be given two drink tickets, followed by a cash bar.

PLEASE NOTE:  Ivy Hall does not accept credit cards.  Therefore, please plan to bring cash to pay for your beverages.

There are still some areas where help would be appreciated:
  • Day-of assistance placing décor
  • Check-in (giving out programs and drink tickets)
  • Check-out (collecting payment for and distributing silent auction items)
  • Cleanup – help to gather décor items at end of evening

If you haven’t yet sent in your RSVP  to the Gala, please do so TODAY!  We would love to share the
fun with all of you!  In fact, why not invite your friends?

Devereux Update
A big THANK YOU to the volunteers who helped decorate the gym, serve food, drinks and goodies to the youth at Devereux. The youth enjoyed the Valentine dance and dancing to the tunes of a live DJ. It was so nice to see the youth smiling and having fun. Ones again I can't thank the Circle Women enough for your generosity for the items collected for the Valentine dance. A huge success! BJ's SUV trunk was filled twice with Valentine decorations the first time and then with cakes, cookies, brownies and candy the second time. The amount collected and delivered to Devereux was $1,331.59. This amount also included more men and women underwear, no show socks and cosmetic bags. A HUGE thanks to Heather for continuing to be the drop location for items that we collect for Devereux. Her help is never ending. She also created the the SignUpGenius for the Valentine dance. Thank You! Thank You!

The Valentine Dance at Devereux February 10 was a tremendous success. Numerous compliments!
Enjoy the pictures from the dance!

Membership Updates
New Member Spotlight
The membership Committee would like to introduce two of our new Junior Members. We are thrilled to have them join us this year in The Circle for Children

Kalen McDonald is a Florida State University alumnus who has been in Atlanta 3 years. She is an analyst at Home Depot corporate and previously worked in the fashion industry. She was introduced to The Circle through a sorority sister connection- Tri Delta women- Kaylen is looking forward to meeting everyone. When she is not working or volunteering you can find her at fetch park with her Australian Shepard or working out at F45.

Kristen Graham has been in Atlanta for a while now! She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2017 where she was a member of Sigma Kappa and graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She is currently a Merchandise Planner for The Home Depot, and before that was the Golf Shop Merchandiser at Cherokee Town and Country Club. When she is not working you can find her with her dogs, Kirby, and Kiwi, or with her friends trying out a new restaurant. Kristen can’t wait to meet everyone and looks forward to all of the good we do!
Long Range Planning
The response from the Circle membership has been absolutely overwhelming as many members have sent in names of favorite charities for us to consider as our next beneficiary. Our membership’s enthusiasm for this difficult but important task has helped to make the work the Long-Range Planning committee faces much easier.

Each charity nominated by Circle members has been sent a brief application to gauge their mission, financial needs, opportunities for hands-on help from Circle members and other important details. Currently Long-Range Planning committee members are going through the different submissions while simultaneously researching and vetting each organization.

Our next job will be to whittle down the many deserving groups to three or four finalists. The committee will then visit each of the finalists’ campuses as we strive to choose the best fit for The Circle. Lastly, we will be presenting our recommendation for our next beneficiary to both the board and the general membership.

As chair of the Long-Range Committee and a 30-year member of The Circle, I realize this process is often upsetting to many of our members. Our members have such big hearts for each of the different organizations we have helped throughout the years and find it hard to leave any of them behind. I have found, though, that each time we pick a new charity, we end up falling in love with them, just as we have all our other beneficiaries. There are so many worthy organizations in the Atlanta area and so many more children that need our help!

If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact me, Danielle Houret-Lam, at [email protected].
Scholarship Update
The Scholarship Committee is accepting scholarship applications thru March 25. While we expect to have applicants from Tullulah Falls School, and hope to have some from Devereux and CCYA, any eligible GA student may apply. If you know of a student facing financial hardship who plans to attend a GA college, university, or technical school, please share our Google application form with them. https://forms.gle/bytoaQAznWJFhPgA8
