NEW INNOVATIONS RELEASED AT GIS
The complete family of Toro Irrigation components was on display at the recent show in San Diego. The Lynx® Central Control System leads the field for precise, efficient irrigation control. Lynx® Fusion (version 8.0) includes cloud-based tools that eliminate the need for a desktop device. Lynx Cloud allows superintendents to stay connected to the control system from anywhere and at any time. Data can be reviewed on a mobile device, and adjustments to settings for stations or holes can be made directly through Lynx Cloud all in real time. There’s no need to make trips back and forth from a problem area to the central computer. Version 8.0 (Lynx Fusion) also turns on the functionality to operate Lynx Smart Satellites with Lynx Smart Module systems (2-wire) seamlessly in a single Lynx Central. You now have the flexibility to phase in a new system rather than be forced to transition all at once

Toro continues a robust series of packaging discounts for 2022! There have been some significant changes to the conversion assemblies and riserless bodies program. This program runs through September 30, 2022 until program limits are reached, so don't delay. If you need further clarification, reach out to your territory manager to help you. SYSTEM MAINTENANCE FOR MARCH
Listed below are maintenance items to check during the month of March. This is from our yearly irrigation checklist which can be downloaded here.

  • Inspect sprinklers for wear and functionality
  • Clean out field controllers (rodents and creatures, big and small)
  • Test earth grounds for field controllers/decoders (minimum every 3 years)
  • Tune modems for field controllers (every 4 years, if applicable)
  • Raise sunken heads
  • Check and repair yardage tops, order replacements if necessary
  • Check air release valves and clean filters
  • Locate and edge around shut off valves
  • Inspect valve boxes for damage and tripping hazards, repair as needed
  • Check o-rings on sprinkler hose plug-ins
  • Check and repair hoses (loose and on hose carts)
  • Check quick coupler keys for bends, cracks or loose lugs
  • Shut all drain valves left open over winter
  • Exercise all circuit breakers on pump and control systems
  • Start wells
  • Start pump station(s)
  • Load water in the irrigation system slowly
  • Check central controller communications
  • Check backflow protection devices and re-certify if needed
  • Record pump and well flow totals and check against central totals
