International Women's Day

takes place on March 8 every year to celebrate women's rights and inspire people to act in the ongoing fight for gender equality. It is a United Nations-sanctioned global holiday.

It observes cultural, political, and socioeconomic women-made achievements in various fields. Women's Day also marks a call for a gender-equal world that is free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination and is diverse, equitable, and inclusive while differences are valued and celebrated.

This year, the theme for International Women's Day is Embrace Equity or #EmbraceEquity. The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about 'Why equal opportunities aren't enough'."

While "Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities," the IWD website said, "Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome."

From the Board Management and Staff, we wish you a Happy International Women’s Day.

On PSCU, I Do Rely

By Anika Mason

Though I cannot see, you took a chance on me.

Welcoming me into an atmosphere where I served and grew,

And helped me showcase anew,

Our commitment to member satisfaction and financial stability.

I am included as part of a team,

Where my life-long dream,

To be seen as more than I am perceived,

Is now a reality with every member satisfied.

I am challenged each day to step high upon ground,

Where at times the levels rise even higher,

My creativity encouraged to achieve goals throughout every season,

Me being strengthened simply by the reason,

That thanks to you, I bloom where I now believe I belong

And with each new day there is a song,

Humbly humming within my heart,

The melody of gratitude towards you giving me a start,

Where I have earned much more than the value of what is quickly spent and gone.

I thank you, PSCU,

For being the foundation upon which I can rely,

My heart remaining full of warmth from the glowing years gone by,

Your widening hands leading me into a future where even my long dead eyes,

Can see clearly that co-operatively I shall continue to grow,

Surrounded by the everlasting glow,

Of an organization that remains for me,

More than just a job

Welcome to PSCU Family!

We are pleased to introduce our new

Business Development Officer

Mrs. Annette Hinkson-Patrovanie-

Annette Hinkson-Patrovanie is a devoted wife and mother of three boys. She comes with over fifteen (15) years of experience in sales and marketing and is qualified in the area of Journalism and Public Relations, having completed an Associate Degree in that field, in addition to an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Being an avid believer in continuous advancement, Mrs. Hinkson Patrovanie is also the holder of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing and is currently pursuing her MBA specialization in Marketing.

Being an extrovert by nature has kindled her passion for Sales and Marketing. This is also the genesis behind the development of marketing and business plans for the achievement of revenue goals for PSCU. This entails participating in media communication activities, understanding the trends in the financial industry, and knowing the people that matter in this field.

A day at work in the life of Mrs. Patrovanie would meet her developing innovative strategies for retaining members, developing business proposals for existing and new members, and engaging in market research in order to identify opportunities for new business. It would also entail participation in forums related to the industry; conferences and client discussions; in other words, being that representative of the company to the existing and potential members.

The culture of PSCU is a major pull factor for Mrs. Hinkson - Patrovanie, especially the emphasis that is placed on member satisfaction. Additionally, the wide range of products and services offered, with admittedly some of the most competitive rates within the industry.

Fun Fact about Annette

She loves to sing and is a lover of her culture with a passion for calypso.

This passion has led her to take up the role of composer for her eldest son and teach him how to perform the art form.

Her Favorite Quote:

“The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively” – Bob Marley.
