Hello NECC Community! We hope you’re all staying safe and warm despite the frigid weather. Our facility has been closed the last two days in order to keep our staff off icy roads and with below freezing temperatures predicted for tonight it looks like we'll be closed tomorrow as well. We hope to open again Monday, but with rain and low temperatures in the forecast, its too soon to tell. To stay informed about the latest updates on facility hours and activity cancellations, please visit our website.

Farewell from Former
Executive Director Kim Montagriff
|
|
Dear NECC Staff, Members, Participants and Friends,
As I step out of the Executive Director position, I wanted to express my gratitude for you! I deeply appreciate and will miss this special place and special people.
Reflecting on the past 10 years, I feel all the feels - pride, joy, sadness, optimism, and more... but mostly excitement for the future (both for me and the NECC)!
The organization has a strong strategic plan; absolutely fantastic staff; a committed Board; and a clear direction to recover from the financial, emotional, and physical havoc caused by COVID. I am excited to witness the next 10 years with a new Executive Director and Staff poised to lead the NECC in living its values as an equitable and inclusive community center that has a meaningful impact on the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of all NE Portlanders.
Me? I'm going to drink morning coffee with friends, and when it gets warmer, go camping for a few months to decompress.
Please cherish and support the people and programs at the NECC - they are truly life-changing. I have been humbled (and honored) to learn from the collective wisdom at the NECC, and my time here has been transformational.
All my best,
Kim

NEV & NECC
Bringing our Communities Together
|
|
On January 1, NE Village PDX became a program of the NECC! We are thrilled to embark on this journey together in creating new opportunities that positively impact the aging experience for our neighbors across NE Portland. Collectively, we are actively seeking ways to grow our programming, expand financial support, and embed equity and inclusion into the work of both organizations.
Interested in learning more about NEV? Join Village Volunteers for a general informational meeting from 1:00-2:00pm on Monday, March 13, at the Hollywood Library.
