Dearest Friends,
Do you know what a Difference Maker is? A Difference Maker is an ordinary person who accomplishes extraordinary things by creating positive change in their community and the lives of others. You are a Difference Maker. Whether it’s family, work, or helping others, we all want our lives to count and our actions to impact others positively. North Texas Municipal Clerk Association members are here for you and to help you along your journey.
As spring is approaching, not only is it time for a bit of spring cleaning of our workplace and home, but cleaning our self-care routine. Find your inspiration and get the reset you’ve been craving. Please take the opportunity to show your mind, body, and spirit some love.
In closing, YOU FIRST. Remember what they tell you about the oxygen mask on the plane. Put your mask on first before helping children and others needing assistance. Too often, we take care of others before taking care of ourselves. Take care of yourself, exercise, sleep, and enjoy family, friends, and hobbies outside of work.
“Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.”

The NTMCA has had a great beginning this year. With ten meetings scheduled for this year, we have had ARMA Records Management (October) and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (November) as guest speakers. On February 15, 2023, we were privileged to have Alan Bojorquez, Bojorquez Law Firm, discussing Legislature updates pertaining to Municipal Clerks. In addition, we are excited to have our March meeting in the City of Euless with Stevie Dawn Blakely as the guest speaker.
On January 19, 2023, the NTMCA Board met to discuss future topics that would benefit all our members. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities that will benefit everyone.
In addition, NTMCA is hosting a Virtual Athenian Dialogue on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. The dialogue will be held via the Zoom platform. We will discuss the book, "The Real Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II,” by Andrew Marr. Dr. Amy C. Holt, Ph.D., TRMC, will facilitate the dialogue. Registration cost is $50.00, and it is still open with limited space.
I want to take this time to recognize and congratulate our members for receiving their certification or recertification in January 2023. We had several from our chapter. As we all know, this accomplishment takes a lot of work and dedication. We are surrounded by so many hard-working and yet still tenacious at the same time. They are an inspiration to all of us.

2023 Local Government Records Management Officer Meeting
|
|
Calling all records management officers and records professionals serving local governments across Texas! Texas State Library and Archives (TSLAC) wants to meet with you. Due to the size of this meeting and geography, this event will be held via Zoom.
Registration is limited to Texas local government entities. Due to Zoom capacity limits, we ask each local government to register no more than two (2) employees. This meeting is a great opportunity to share with records liaisons in your government.
While the event is no cost, advanced registration is required.
