Craig discusses the role of praise and wonder in choral music.

Craig considers the role of praise and wonder in choral music today. Listen to the "Sanctus/Benedictus" section of "Mass for the Endangered" and compare with the "Sanctus" hymn of other choral masses. And, to celebrate spring, hear Britten's "Flower Songs."

Greet Spring with a Brave and Wakeful Song!

In April we present Sing the World Awake featuring the "Mass for the Endangered," by composer Sarah Kirkland Snider, sung by the Conspirare Artist Citizen Choral Collective, a choir of choral educators and lifelong singers. A modern take on the traditional Catholic Mass, the work is a celebration of and elegy for the natural world—animals, plants, insects, and the planet itself.

My Heart Be Brave features the 90-voice power of Conspirare's Symphonic Choir in May. This evening of music to inspire courage for living in these times includes "Eternal Light: A Requiem" by composer Howard Goodall and poetry.
