March 2024

To our members,

First and foremost, thank you for your support of our charity.

We are excited to announce a new monthly donation campaign that we're starting in March. Throughout March, make a new monthly gift of $20 or more through CanadaHelps, and CanadaHelps will make a one-time extra $20 donation to us!*

  • Step 1: Go to our Donation Page (see link below).
  • Step 2: Schedule a monthly gift of $20 or more (or increase your current monthly donation).
  • Step 3: Confirm your gift.

Monthly donations help Langley Pos-Abilities keep up with operational costs, program developments, and overall community impact. By becoming a monthly donor, you would contribute to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities in the community. Your support means a lot to us as we strive to enhance our services and reach more individuals who need our assistance.

Together, we can make a difference.

Sincerely,

Langley Pos-Abilities

The update you have all been waiting for...

the Accessibility Map App is here!

The purpose is to enable access to public buildings for anyone who might have challenges, such as seniors, mothers with strollers, and people with disabilities. Disabilities include mobility issues, hearing loss, blindness, and many other conditions requiring assistive devices.

This can be easily accessed on any device (laptop, phone, iPad). We are encouraging all members of our community to take time and rate different locations you go to in terms of 3 main accessibility features: mobility, vision, and hearing. You can rate (create accessibility reports) and review (read over previously submitted accessibility reports) directly on the app!

Accessible or Not?

Watch this video to learn about how important it is for people in wheelchairs and scooters to have proper accessible parking. Lack of proper parking in the right location can put them at risk or restricts access to their vehicle. Accessible parking isn't about convenience, it's a requirement.

Langley Pos-Abilities Society is grateful to have collaborated with SPARC BC on this project.

Accessibility Audit Program

Langley Pos-Abilities will assess your workplace accessibility, offer you a detailed report, and if needed, suggest ideas to improve your score. There are many low-cost or cost-free ways you can make your workplace a welcoming environment for people with disabilities.
