Dear Families: Happy March! A few announcements for you.

  • Spring Photos. We will be bringing a professional photographer on site for spring photos. We are finalizing the date but expect it to be the last week of March. PreSchool 2 students who are graduating will be taking their graduations photos. All transactions will happen directly with the vendor. More details to come.

  • Make-A-Wish. We will start running our Make-A-Wish activities starting next month and through April. Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that helps grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. Philanthropy is an important part of our curriculum for our little learners, so these next months are super special for us. One great way to help us kick start the process is to engage your employer to see if they have an employer match program. Here is our website: 2023-2024 TLE Let's Grant Wishes: TLE Wilton - Make-A-Wish Foundation. Stay tuned for more details.

  • Upcoming Fees. Last year, in our inaugural year, we were able to secure a moratorium from TLE HQ on the annual registration fee and summer activity fee -- as we focused on teacher hiring, introducing our lunch program, and building the school. This year, TLE HQ is requiring it so here is a schedule of fees:

Fall 2024 Registration. We are starting the registration process for the 2023-2024 academic year (running from 9/1/2024 to 8/31/2025). If you would like to opt out for the 2024-2025 school year, please e-mail us at wilton@tlechildcare.com and write "opt out" by April 30th. Otherwise, families will be automatically be charged a registration fee of $150 on May 1st; this enables us to plan for the following year, as well as, take families off our current waitlist. We do not have rates for the 24-25 school year yet but we do know that no rate increases will occur between now and August 31, 2024.  If your family started after January 1st 2024, your registration fee is waived for the fall.

Summer Program Fees. We are planning for our Summer of Happiness, which will include awesome vendors, swag, and activities. For those in our Twaddler, Prepper, and PreSchool programs (2s and up), there is a $150 summer activity fee in order to bring this vision to life. This fee will be charged July 1st. If you are not planning to be here over the summer, please let us know by May. *Infants and Toddlers will not be charged this fee, as they may not be able to participate in several of these activities yet.

  • Inclement Weather. Decisions on weather delays/closures will be communicated through the Parent App under "Announcements" and can also be found on Connecticut Weather | wfsb.com. We are listed under "Community Organizations." Weather decisions are made after consulting current conditions, forecasted conditions, and public safety officials. We do not follow the schools or other daycares/preschools in lockstep. We try to make a decision by 5:30 AM.

  • Closures. There are no scheduled closures for March and April. The next scheduled closure is Monday May 27, 2024 for Memorial Day followed by Thursday July 4th for the 4th of July, followed by Monday Sept. 2, 2024 for Labor Day.

Monthly Curriculum Theme

Spring has sprung at The Learning Experience! Our March curriculum theme is called My Greater World β€” where your little learner will investigate and learn more about the natural world around us!

In the classrooms this month, little ones will discover how things grow, pretend play as different animals, recognize the sounds of nature, and much more!

Character Spotlight

Our literature-loving llama, Phoebe Phonics, is excited to take your little learner on a reading adventure!

ο»ΏThis month, she'll encourage your little one to explore poetry, nonfiction texts, and even new stories β€” all to help them understand what makes our world wonderful!

β€Š

Little Engineers

In our Little Engineers enrichment program, your little learner will participate in problem-solving activities that encourage creativity, perseverance, and real-life application skills! Alongside our technology-savvy friend, Techni-Cal, your little one will explore science and math-related concepts that will also allow them to tap into their curiosity and practice cooperating with others!

Family Connections

You can extend this month's curriculum concepts at home by exploring books about animals with your little one! You can help them understand our Greater World by identifying the animals by name and sound! You can even reinforce these concepts by taking an outdoor walk with your little learner and listening to nature sounds!
