A Message from
David Selberg

Dear friends,

I hope you'll take some time to look at our annual report, found below in this newsletter, that is reflective of our activities in 2024. It was written with you in mind, to share about the services we provided to thousands of our friends and neighbors in a variety of meaningful ways. Because of you 2,644 people received care and comfort. 222 children, teens, young adults, and their families found comfort and support after losing a loved one. I hope you will read the full report to learn more about the amazing impact of your support.

I understand that you have a choice in the charitable organizations you support, and I do not take that for granted. What makes our supporters unique, I believe, is that you have a deep and ongoing commitment to our mission of assisting anyone who needs us AND recognize that our work must be sustained as community needs grow. I was humbled by the way you stepped up to meet and surpass our Legacy of Compassion Campaign financial goals last year, and we hope to take that even further this year. I also welcome any feedback you may have so that we are doing our best possible job for those impacted by a serious illness or grieving the death of a loved one. Please feel free to reach out any time, and thank you once again for your generous support that makes our work possible.

Be well,

David Selberg

Blessed Are You Who Bear the Light

By Jan Richardson

Blessed are you

who bear the light in unbearable times,

who testify to its endurance

amid the unendurable,

who bear witness to its persistence

when everything seems in shadow and grief.

Blessed are you in whom the light lives,

in whom the brightness blazes—

your heart a chapel, an altar where in the deepest night can be seen

the fire that shines forth in you

in unaccountable faith,

in stubborn hope,

in love

that illumines every broken thing it finds.
