If you read the news in Saskatoon, we have a health crisis with more than 300 reported overdose cases since the end of February. It’s heartbreaking to see some of what our community members experience. We are in desperate times and need the Lord’s help.
One visitor, still trapped in their addiction, said, “I want to feel normal.” The second visitor is in gang life and yet desires what God has for them. The third visitor shared how their traumatic childhood experiences created a deep-seated root of bitterness. The bad news is we hear these grievous type of testimonies, daily.
THE GOOD NEWS is we have a Saviour that saves us. For the first visitor, our staff got to pray for them, sharing the hope of the Gospel; in the end, they gave their life to Jesus. For the second visitor, the staff was able to assure them that they are not too far from God’s grace, that there’s hope for change. The third visitor encountered the Lord’s presence and forgiveness during our afternoon church, gaining Heaven’s perspective of their past.
We are not desperate and hopeless. We are desperate AND know where our help comes from. Our hope in the Lord will not lead to disappointment (Romans 5:5).

Conflict often leads to broken relationships, dominating it with anger, fear, and sadness. Sometimes the thought of reconciliation seems to be too far-fetched and often neglected. However, just as Jesus bridges the gap between creation with the Father, we want to follow His example as we are called to be “The Bridge”.
During one of our meetings with a visitor, our conversation started with explaining the reason for the rules that made the visitor upset. As the visitor shared their background story, hopelessness and regret distorted their countenance. Motivated by compassion, one of our staff shared their testimony and how God changed their life. Slowly, the visitor’s countenance changed, and asked, “Is it really possible? Could it be possible for my life to change?” They were told, "In Jesus’ name, YES!"
In fact, we communicated God’s heart for reconciliation. In the past month, several visitors committed/recommitted their lives to Jesus through these meetings. They are not just welcomed back to The Bridge, but to the Father’s house. What started as a broken relationship, ended with a reunion to the family of God.

In our afternoon church, a visitor asked our staff to pray for courage to share the Gospel with a family member. However, what they received was beyond what they asked for (1 Corinthians 2:9).
When the staff was praying for them, the presence of God was evident. After praying for their request, the visitor shared that they had been in constant pain from a previous car accident. And now, they did not feel any more pain! But wait! THERE’S MORE!
The next few days, we could see that this visitor was full of joy. They went from one staff to another to share this miraculous healing. Since the pain is gone, they do not feel the need to smoke and have been sober since then. We are celebrating the fulfillment of God’s promise in this visitor’s life.
God is faithful to His Word!
