Looking back on 2024, we are grateful for the donors and volunteers who have contributed to a year of growth in how we serve our clients at Penfield Hope and how we respond to increasing needs in the community. We are especially grateful to our Board of Directors for working to renew our mission and begin a visioning process for the future.

We all know that we are spending more at the grocery store when we shop for our families. For households that are already struggling to make ends meet, increased food costs are a serious hardship. Your support of Penfield Hope has made it possible for us to keep pace with a 41% increase in client visits and a near 100% increase in our budget for the food pantry.

Remarkably, in 2024, more than 30% of our donors were new contributors for the year. In all, we received 430 gifts totaling approximately $160,000.

As our Board met this past year, we had several facilitated meetings to review our mission, vision, values, and statement of services. This work resulted in an updated mission statement: Following the example of Christ, Penfield Hope welcomes all and shares the abundance and generosity of the community with those in need. We listen to understand and serve. You can see more on our website at: https://penfieldhope.org/mission.

In the course of our Board discussions, we identified areas for discussion and growth. Two volunteer committees are now working on advancing our volunteer training protocols and enhancing how we meet with clients and stay in touch with them. More to come on that later in 2025!

Thank you for your ongoing support of the mission of Penfield Hope!
