Dear Clients, Neighbors, Friends, and Family,
Happy March Madness—Real Estate Style
Tariffs, a volatile stock market, insurance challenges, and persistent inventory shortages have certainly kept things interesting. Yet, despite the chaos of the past few months, life moves forward—and so does the market.
Spring is my favorite time of year in real estate. The season is in full swing, and our team is moving full steam ahead with an exceptional lineup of listings across all price points. Momentum is strong, and competition is heating up, with many properties throughout Marin County receiving multiple—and often preemptive—offers. The San Francisco market is on fire.
A Few Recent Highlights:

Move-in-ready homes are in high demand, and it’s easy to see why. The time, cost, and complexity of renovating have become daunting for many buyers, not to mention finding insurance for homes with outdated electrical systems, plumbing, and old roofs. Just this morning, a developer shared with me that he’s considering retiring due to escalating construction and labor costs, along with mounting bureaucracy at every level—city, county, and state.
Wildfire Preparedness
Last week, our team hosted a well-attended webinar titled "Living with Wildfire in Marin County." I’m deeply grateful to our expert panelists:
- Stan Sanchez, Epic Insurance Brokers & Consultants
- Jeff Jungsten, Jungsten Construction
- Brian Koch, Terra Ferma Landscape Design
- Meg McCabe, Fire Safe Marin
For those who were unable to join us, a recording of the webinar is available here.
In the wake of January’s fires in Los Angeles, I’ve made it a priority to educate myself and share resources with our community. Fire-resistant landscaping and home hardening are becoming the new must-have, both for buyers and insurance companies. As Meg McCabe said, “Wildfire is inevitable. Destruction is entirely preventable.”
At home, I’m taking action: replacing all vents, installing a pump and fire hose for our pool, enhancing the first five feet (Zone Zero) of defensible space, and exploring a monitored exterior sprinkler system. Harry Statter, CEO of Frontline Wildfire Defense, sent an email this week sharing that 61 Frontline systems were activated during the recent Palisades fire—resulting in only two homes being lost.
