The City Council hit the ground running in 2025 by establishing their priorities for this year and beyond:

• Diversity of Housing Types

Mayor Hawkins, Deputy Mayor Ribail, Councilmember Burrell, Councilmember Merizan, and City Manager Ender traveled to the Capitol this month to meet with our State Legislators. Senator Keith Goehner, Representative Mike Steele, and Representative Brian Burnett represent District 12 in the Washington State Legislature.

The Council advocated for the full funding of a roundabout at the intersection of State Route 203 and NE Tolt Hill Road in King County, just outside the City of Carnation. The primary objectives of the project are to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and reduce congestion at a critical junction. 

The danger that the State Route 203 and NE Tolt Hill intersection poses has united Carnation and its partners to pursue a solution for this hazardous intersection. King County, Snoqualmie Tribe, Sno-Valley Chamber of Commerce, Carnation Chamber of Commerce, Duvall Chamber of Commerce, City of Snoqualmie, City of North Bend, City of Duvall, Fall City, Remlinger Farms, Riverview School District, Snoqualmie Valley School District, MainVue Homes, King County Flood Control District, Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance, Eastside Fire and Rescue, King County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Carnation have formed an unprecedented coalition to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors.

Tourism Grant Funding Secured

The City of Carnation is the recipient of a 2025 Rural Tourism Marketing & Production grant! State of Washington Tourism has awarded the City $15,000 to fund a digital asset library for a project called "Carnation: Your Year-Round Playground." Assets will include professional photography and video.
