A stone is thrown into a still lake, and the ripples spread to the shore in wider and wider waves. Just like this, when we sit on our cushions and ask, “What is this? Don’t know,” we create ripples across the lives of everyone we have contact with, in widening circles of compassion, acceptance, and patience.
What does the flutter of a butterfly wing have to do with a hurricane in the Caribbean?
What does it have to do with the price of tea in China?
How do we bring our practice from the cushion to loving action? Simply by diligently, urgently, and patiently applying ourselves to our practice, then fulfilling our fitting function in our everyday lives.
