PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Plantation Community Foundation members,

We are still in our Fundraising season. Please don't forget to renew your membership. The PCF was the charity of choice selected by Fox Lea Farm to host the "Jumping Under the Stars" competition with Horse Riders competing from around the country on February 28th. We secured the admissions fees and we ran a 50/50 raffle. We netted $3,500 for a couple of hours of volunteer work.

March 28th is our Casino Night. Registration begins at 6:00 pm. Join us for a fun night of Blackjack, Craps, Roulette & Poker. Tickets are $100 pp which gets you 1000 chips. More chips can be purchased during the evening. Additionally, we will hold our annual 56 Card Draw. $100 will get you a card for the draw. Fun & yummy hors d'oeurves will be served throughout the event along with a cash bar. We will be hosting a Silent Auction provided by Socially Funded. If you are not coming to Casino Night come visit the Silent Auction. Items for bid will be Sports Memorabilia, Americana, Bourbon Basket, Framed Art Work, Jewelry and Handbags. Easter and Mother's Day are right around the corner.

Mid April we will be giving out grants to our vetted Grant recipients. All will be invited to attend the breakfast. Details to come soon.

Show Jumping under the Stars

Thank You to ALL of our wonderful Volunteers and Members who attended our offsite PCF event at beautiful Fox Lea Farm on North Auburn Road in Venice on Friday, February 21, 2025. A great time was had by all on a blue sky afternoon and cool starry night. The Grand Prix Horse Show and jumping is an exciting Olympic Sport that requires extraordinary athleticism from both horse and rider with jumps approaching five feet in height. We enjoyed watching amazing horses and riders with an exciting crowd of spectators.

The Plantation Community Foundation is proud be selected as a Charity Partner by Fox Lea Farm. As a charity partner we successfully raised funds for our annual grants program by helping at the event. Our volunteers helped with parking, admission tickets, golf cart rides to/from parking, hosting a PCF information table and 50/50 raffle ticket sales.

PCF is able to accept IRA contributions from members. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow individuals who are 70 1/2 or older to donate to qualified charities like the Plantation Community Foundation, Inc. QCDs can help offset an individual’s required minimum distribution, which will have tax benefits. To donate by QCD, please contact your IRA custodian.
