Bader Philanthropies strives to practice our values of dignity and integrity through our grantmaking, convenings, engagement and leadership. These values are the cornerstone of our work and they guide us as we uphold the intentions of our Founders, Helen Daniels Bader; and Isabel and Alfred Bader.

This month, we launched Chat with Bader 2.0 which still connects people and now, grantees offer substantive information on timely topics such as property taxes and Homestead exemptions which reduce the tax burden for older adults, people with disabilities or low-income individuals.  Thank you to Community Advocates and Riverworks Development Corp. for being an integral part of our recent Chat with Bader which brought together 80+ people. It is our hope that Chat with Bader 2.0 will be a hub for connections and resources that profoundly change lives.

Spring often signals new beginnings and vibrancy. We hope in the weeks ahead you will find time to reflect on the many ways you create fresh starts and bolster the way people see the world.

Partner Spotlight: Hope Through Restoration

Hope Through Restoration exists to offer individuals hope and positive options to build on in living out their lives. Program outcomes include reduced recidivism, alcohol and drug abuse, and criminal justice involvement. The organization also promotes personal restoration, stronger families, better decision-making, educational and employment success, financial literacy, and support for first-time homebuyers.

"I was introduced to Hope Through Restoration, a program that has completely changed my life. It gave me hope, helped me understand who I am as a person, and showed me that I don’t have to keep going in and out of prison.

Being part of Hope Through Restoration for the past year and four months has made a big difference in my life. My parole officer has seen the change in me, and so have others. Today, my family enjoys my company. My good choices and financial stability allow me to participate in those relationships in a way that feels right.

I’m so thankful to God for the support I’ve received through Hope Through Restoration. It’s only by the grace of God that I’m here now, living a new life filled with hope and purpose." - Jose Molina
