The purpose of this email is to share information regarding Steubenville High School. It is a monthly newsletter featuring Big Red news and current events.

Pride of the Valley

Greetings, Parents and Families of Steubenville High School,

I think we can all agree that this school year just won’t slow down. As we head into the month of March and the spring season, I am reminded of the growth and renewal this time of year foretells for Big Red Nation. Spring is an exciting but vitally important stretch on the academic calendar. With warmer weather comes renewed focus as we prepare for the final quarter, state testing, spring activities and graduation celebrations.

The 3^rd grading period has come to a close and we encourage all students to review their grades and connect with teachers if additional support is needed. With Spring on the horizon, it’s essential that students stay engaged and organized to ensure they finish strong! There’s no group this applies to more so than our seniors. Things will be getting very busy for the Class of 2026 in the near future.

Seniors should be:

· keeping an eye on their grades to ensure all credits are on track for completion,

· organizing their approach to their Capstone project, and

· monitoring scholarship deadlines.

I do want to discuss a rather important news item – the Commencement date has been bumped up a day from Wednesday, May 27^th to Tuesday, May 26^th. There were several conflicts with extracurriculars that would have made it impossible for a large number of students to be at both places. We believe this adjustment will alleviate such conflicts. We are keeping Thursday, May 28^th as our “Rain Date.”

As our seniors are well aware, graduation will be here before we know it. To make certain our seniors have the latest information, I will use senior students’ SCS Google emails while also creating a “Senior Only” Remind app group. This will allow the guidance office and I to effectively communicate with the Class of ’26 as we move toward graduation. It’s very important that seniors check these sources of information to stay abreast of important info and updates.

Believe it or not, March 2nd is the first day of the 4^th quarter! I encourage everyone to remain academically diligent, stay connected, and as always, look out for one another. Together, we will continue to learn, grow and prosper!
