** NEW CLASSES ADDED**

Due to the popular demand for classes, we have added the following:

Monday's beginning March 30:

• 5:15pm - 5:45pm Toddlers (ages 18 months - 3)
• 5:45pm - 6:30pm Dance Basics (ages 4-6) 
• 6:30pm - 7:15pm Ballet/Jazz Combo (ages 6-9) - only need ballet slippers. 
• 7:15pm - 8:00pm Beginner Youth Hip Hop (ages 7+) - only need sneakers and comfortable clothes.
• 8:00pm - 8:45pm Adult Lyrical - ballet attire or comfortable clothes.

NOTE: We are still accepting dancers in our current Toddler, Creative Dance, Dance Basics, and Adult Beginner Ballet classes.

LINE DANCING CONTINUES TO LASSO NEW STUDENTS!

This class remains at the top of our interest list so we have added a new four-class session on Fridays! Come two-step with us beginning Friday, March 13 from 8:15pm-9:15pm. It's a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your significant other, enjoy a girls night out, or attend solo and make some new friends! It's $40 per dancer for the course so register today and mark your calendar for March 13, March 20, March 27, and Apr 3!

SUMMER CLASSES

DANCE CAMPS

We offer weeklong camps to keep our students engaged, entertained and educated in their dance experience! All camps are held at the main building except for Hip Hop camp which is held at Studio C. Campers will need a lunch, snack and plenty to drink except for Hip Hop camp in which they will only need drinks. ·        DISNEY ON BROADWAY (ages 7-12): June 22 - 26 held 9:00am – 2:00pm with Miss Devon. Calling all Disney aficionados and fans for a week of immersion on the Disney stage! Broadway hits like Aladdin, Lion King, Cinderella, and more will come to life in this positive and inspiring camp environment! Enjoy singing, dancing, and acting... complete with auditions for parts in our show! Family and friends are welcome to cheer us on at our short showcase on Friday at 1:45pm!. $197 per dancer (campers registered by June 1 can receive 10% off tuition by using the code SUMMER10%)

·        HIP HOP LOCK-IN & DANCE CAMP (ages 9+): July 13 - 17 held 9:00am - 12:00pm with Platinum J Campers will enjoy this week long camp of hip-hop choreography, tricks, tumbling, improv, and cool games! So Lock-In and focus on improving your knowledge and skills ... we will even create our own sensational TikTok dances! There will be a demonstration for family and friends on Friday for the last 15 minutes of camp.  $185 per dancer (campers registered by June 1 can receive 10% off tuition by using the code SUMMER10%)

·        CAMP HOLLYWOOD: A STAR IN THE MAKING (ages 6-13): Aug 3 - 7 held 9:00am - 2:00pm with Miss Abby G Dream of walking the red carpet? Giving an award acceptance speech? Getting your own star on the walk of fame? Enjoy this camp where we will sing, dance, act, play games, enjoy crafts, and be the celebrity you were meant to be! There will be a short presentation for family and friends at the end of the week on Friday at 1:45pm. $197 per dancer (campers registered by June 1 can receive 10% off tuition by using the code SUMMER10%)

PRINCESS CAMPS

Princess camps (ages 4-8) will be held from 9:00am - 12:00pm in Studio B. Please bring a snack and drink each day. Transform your little dancer into a princess with dancing, movement games, drama, costumes, and creative improvisations. Your child will love portraying characters from classic princess and fairytale movies! DANCE INTENSIVES

Immerse yourself in our five-day summer dance intensives featuring daily classes in a variety of styles with Victoria Walpole-McWilliams and guest teachers. Dancers receive tips to help them improve turns, jumps, general technique, performance quality and artistry along with gaining personalized attention, a renewed joy for movement, and motivation to push themselves to work outside of their comfort zone. Miss Victoria will share her experiences as a professional dancer and will offer one on one meetings to give dancers individualized feedback. In addition to instruction in ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary, there will be multicultural dances from guest teachers. The week will end with an in-studio performance open to friends and family to feature work learned on Friday at 2:40pm. Don’t miss this inspiring week!

• Junior 4/Int 1/Teen Int Intensive: July 27-July 31
• Levels Int 2-4 Intensive: Aug 3-7

GERTRUDE HAWK CANDY FUNDRAISER STILL AVAILABLE ONLINE!

Cecil Junior Dance Troupe (CJDT) is sponsoring a Gertrude Hawk Chocolate fundraiser to help offset your tuition expenses and to help fund their production of Peter Pan. 20% of your sales will be applied to your Cecil Dancenter tuition and another 20% will go towards CJDT! Sell $100, earn a $20 credit on your account and raise $20 for CJDT! Catalog orders are now closed BUT online orders placed now through March 22 are still available for out of town friends and family who opt to send their orders directly to their home. Please note that shipping fees apply with this option.

• PETER PAN ... FLY WITH US

Join the adventure by traveling to Neverland where our dancers will have audiences enjoying a flight of fancy along with their amazing talent! Cecil Junior Dance Troupe will whisk you away on a magical journey filled with wonder. The hard work, dedication and talent of our dancers will have you cheering for them all! Peter Pan is a fantastic journey filled with entertaining characters that we all know and love! Join us on Saturday, March 28 at 1pm or Sunday, March 29 at 1pm at Elkton High School. Tickets are $20 each and only sold at the door.

• CINDERELLA ... OUR WISH IS TO SEE YOU IN THE AUDIENCE

CDT is excited to present this popular classic show to audiences on the stage at Milburn Stone Theatre this spring! Shows will be held Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 both days at 1:00pm. The beauty and elegance of this timeless tale will fit just right… CDT brings life to this story of age! This classic fairytale comes to Milburn Stone Theatre where viewers will be treated to a wickedly good performance where the beauty of ballet meets the drama of evil intentions. Great seats are available now! Young audience members may even dance on stage with some of our cast members in our pre-show! • DANCE ON STAGE WITH US IN OUR PRESHOW!
• Not only will little ones enjoy CDT's Cinderella show from the audience, but they can also participate on stage before the show begins! All children arriving prior to the start of the show will be able to come up on stage if they'd like to join the "Celebrate Spring" dance party following our cast members in some party dances like Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance and the Cha Cha Slide. No need to register for this event, simply purchase your performance tickets (click here for tickets) and arrive 15 minutes early to the show. Children may wear their favorite clothes, costume, or casual attire. We look forward to having all of the little ones join us on stage!

DRESS CODE

Please click here for information regarding our dress code for each of our dance styles. It is important that you dress appropriately so that the instructor can make sure your technique and form are correct. For classes requiring dance shoes we recommend purchasing those shoes at The Dance Station. Slippers found at Walmart or discount stores are not recommended as it's hard for the instructor to see if the foot is properly pointed.

NOTES ON ATTIRE: Although it is becoming more common to see professionals in the dance industry wearing crop tops, halters and sports bras, our studio requires dancers come to class dressed modestly with their torsos covered. We strive to promote a level of confidence that focuses on dance and not body image; therefore, students will be asked to change if they come to class exposing their torso. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact the office. Thank you for helping us to provide a family friendly atmosphere at Cecil Dancenter.

BALLET SLIPPER TIP

Please tuck your dancers ballet slipper laces underneath the top of the shoe. The lace may be cut shorter so it's more comfortable for your child (just make sure to double knot the lace). This provides a more aesthetic look for the mature dancer and for our younger dancers it helps the child/teacher to spend time on instruction rather than tying shoe laces.

PRIVATE LESSONS 

Private lessons are a great way for students to get personalized attention and individualized corrections. We have staff members available to give private dance lessons at a rate of $40-$72/hour. If you are interested in private lessons, please contact our office.
