NEW PERMITTING PROCESS FOR HAINESVILLE

The Village of Hainesville is now contracting with SAFEbuilt Illinois for our Building Department Services. This includes plan reviews, building permits, building inspections, rental occupancy inspections and new business occupancy inspections.

·    The entire permitting process will now be done online with all communications being conducted via email.

·    To apply for a building permit, please visit our website at www.hainesville.org. Within the Building Department Page you will see a tab labeled Permit Procedures, Requirements and Application. That tab will contain all of the information you will need to apply for a permit.

·    You may also go directly to SAFEbuilt Community Core Online Permit Portal for the application as well.

·    For Residential Building Inspections or Rental Occupancy Inspections, please contact SAFEbuilt at (847) 510-4104 or submit a request online to ILinspections@safebuilt.com

Prior to beginning a project within the Village, it is the residents’ responsibility to make sure that a permit is required, applied for and obtained.

Please click HERE for a list of common projects that require a permit.

If you are unsure if your project requires a permit, please contact the Village Hall.

For Rental Occupancy Inspections, please click HERE for a list of common items that should be completed prior to scheduling your inspection.

If you have any questions regarding the application process or permits and inspections in general, please contact us at (847) 223-2032.

FIBER OPTIC SERVICES ARE COMING TO HAINESVILLE

Residents have received construction notices in the mail from MetroNet with T-Mobile Fiber. Additional communication will be sent out throughout the construction process.

For Questions about Construction please visit Metronet.com/TMoConstruction

or call (877) 386-3876

Important for you to know at this time

The fiber will be installed in road rights-of-way and in utility easements typically in backyards.  The construction will run the main fiber lines past every house in order for service lines to be installed at a later date if a resident wishes to purchase this service.  You will see a lot of Metronet trucks and workers in your neighborhood as construction begins.  Please be aware that workers will be in the utility easements. For Hainesville residents, these easements can be in your front yard or your backyard.

What is a utility easement?

A utility easement is a designated strip of private land that utility companies or municipalities have the legal right to access, use, and maintain for essential services like electricity, water, sewer, and cable. While the property owner retains ownership of the land, they are restricted from building permanent structures (like fences or sheds) that obstruct access.

Work will be conducted throughout the entire Village, in phases.  Metronet will be notifying you when they are coming to your neighborhood.  The Village will also update social media and the Village website with construction notices.

Is this a service I have to sign up for?

Metronet fiber will be another option for residents and businesses for their internet service provider.  Fiber is the latest and greatest technology for higher speeds and uninterrupted service.  Once the fiber network is under construction, Metronet will start advertising and selling their subscription packages.  The Village is not promoting, requiring or encouraging any resident or business to sign up for the service.  Rather, this is another provider available for your consideration and choice as to what best fits your needs and budget.

FOOD TRUCKS 2026

As a result of the survey that was sent to our residents last month, the Village of Hainesville is pleased to announce that our Food Truck Thursdays will return this

year to the Village Hall.

Food Trucks will once again gather at the Village Hall on Thursdays from

4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning in May and going through September. Residents, families, and visitors are invited to come out, enjoy a variety of great food options, and spend time connecting with neighbors in a welcoming community atmosphere.

Village residents have voiced their feelings that our Food Truck Thursdays have become a valued village experience - providing convenient dining options while strengthening community engagement and supporting small businesses. The Village looks forward to building on the planning and success of previous seasons and making this year's events a fun family outing.

This initiative is proudly supported by Trustee Christopher Abramson, with support from community volunteers.

Additional details, including participating food trucks and seasonal dates, will be shared in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
