Businessperson and Citizen of the Year Recipients Chosen

Congratulations to our 2025 Businessperson and Citizen of the Year recipients Chad Henson and Waylon Freeze. Chad is the owner/operator of Henson Trash Service that celebrated its 20 year anniversary in 2025. Chad also opened Henson Transfer Station last year. Waylon is Wayne County's Emergency Management Director. After the 2025 tornadoes, Waylon exemplarily led the relief efforts. We are excited to honor these two very deserving men at our upcoming event. This year's Businessperson and Citizen of the Year Celebration will be held on Monday, March 16th at the Wayne County Community Building from 5pm-7pm. The event will be a free to the public, meet and greet style celebration with appetizers and drinks. We would love to have you join us to congratulate and thank Chad and Waylon for all of their hard work and years of dedication to our community.
