Hello Neighbors and Friends -

Friday is Global Day of Unplugging (sundown on March 6th until sundown on March 7th). In that spirit, we encourage you to take it as an opportunity to consider your own relationship with your phone, social media and other digital/tech products that can get in the way of living a full and thriving life. Keep reading for a special section to support your participation in the day.

Several religious and cultural holidays happen this month. Holi began on March 4th while Purim began March 2nd into March 3rd. Muslims will mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr on or around March 19th, depending on the sighting of the moon. Best wishes to everyone who celebrates something special this month.

Finally.....the first day of spring is March 20th. Bring it on! (BTW: Thank you to all the plow drivers, DPW personnel and others who cleared our roads and paths this winter. We haven't seen this much snow and winter weather in a VERY long time).

Yours in Community,

Kelley Petralia

"Even if you don't have kids, the way you use your phone affects them, yours or not. In shared spaces, our attention sets the tone. Kids notice. Presence spreads. So does checking out. Being mindful about our tech isn't just personal, it's communal. How we show up, shapes the world we are all moving through together." - Global Day of Unplugging Instagram post, February 9, 2026
