Dear Parents & Students of our LoMastro Performing Arts Academy Family,

The teachers and I have been working non-stop uploading recital choreography videos, recording videos, and building an entire website this past week. Today I'm excited to reveal our Virtual Academy 1.0! It is a work in progress, so please be patient with any glitches (hopefully there aren't any, fingers crossed).

We know everyone is stuck at home and begging for something to do, and so we hope this is going to help parents out and keep the kids active at home. Currently all recital choreography videos are uploaded and ready for your kids to watch and begin practicing their dances. If you have a smart TV you can AirPlay the videos to your TV, which is awesome!

Please feel free to take pictures and videos of your child dancing along as they practice and post on social media. Dance spreads joy and we're happy to help bring a little joy into your home during this challenging time.

Please watch this video tutorial before you login, to help you navigate the site.

On Friday, March 20, Governor Pritzker issued an executive order requiring residents to “stay at home” effective Saturday, March 21 at 5:00 pm, through the end of April 7. As part of the Governor’s order, he announced that schools will remain closed, with a new tentative reopening date of April 8. We plan to have virtual classes April 1 - April 7, with the plan to re-open on April 8 along with the Lake Forest public schools. The re-open date is a moving target and we will keep you informed. While this will impact our classes inside the studio, we will continue to deliver the experience you know and love at LoMastro just in a slightly different way.

We are working as quickly as we can to get everything up and running. Stay tuned for updates regarding virtual classes.

As mentioned in my previous email, here are a few things we're planning:

  • Virtual classes to keep your kids active and learning at home. This will be a great chance for dancers to practice what they’ve been doing in class and also an opportunity to try something new.
  • Not only will you get to take classes from your regular teachers, but dancers will also have access to classes from all the other teachers too.
  • We’re planning some fun challenges your dancer can do in your house, in your yard, and with siblings. We’ll be announcing them throughout our break and hope you’ll participate.
  • We'll also be adding some bonuses for enrolled families, so stay tuned.

Thank you for your continued support during this unprecedented time.

Best,

Loren LoMastro Specht
