Borel Agricultural Park Public Survey
The East Bay Regional Park District is developing an agricultural park at the site of the former homestead and orchard property belonging to Armand Borel. Development of the future agricultural park requires planning and design services to determine what is feasible and desirable at the future park.
This parcel is located east of the I-680 freeway on the north side of Fostoria Way within the Town of Danville, adjacent to the City of San Ramon (across the street from the Marshalls/Costco site).
The Park District is conducting a survey to gather input about the future 10-acre Borel agricultural park in Danville. Help plan the park by sharing thoughts on activities, facilities, and amenities. The survey is the first step in the planning process. Additional outreach activities will be scheduled in the coming months.

Urban Limit Line Renewal
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors has initiated work on a 2026 ballot measure to renew the County's Urban Limit Line.
The Urban Limit Line, established by Measure C in 1990, prevents sprawl and preserves open space by establishing a boundary beyond which no urban land uses can be designated. It ensures that urban development occurs within established communities where infrastructure and services already exist or are planned.
Proposed adjustments to the Urban Limit Line are detailed in a report County staff presented to the Board of Supervisors on February 25th, 2025. We welcome your comments on the proposed adjustments. You can view the report and the accompanying maps below or on the Envision Contra Costa website. Please send questions and comments to Will Nelson. Comments received by 5:00 PM on June 2nd will be addressed in a follow-up report to the Board of Supervisors anticipated for June or July.

Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder’s Office Partners with Granicus to Ensure Additional Layer of Security for Property Recordings
The Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder’s Office announced the launch of a new online tool that property owners can use to add an extra layer of security for recordings. The opt-in tool allows those with recorded documents to be notified of any new recording activity related to property. Property owners who go online to our Real Estate Recording Notification Alert page can sign up to receive an email notification anytime a document related to the property address, parcel number, or name associated with the property is indexed after recording.
As part of the department’s commitment to transparency, the Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder Division staff worked closely with Granicus, LLC, a longtime vendor, to develop a real estate recording notification program to help customers stay informed about any activity related to their property recordings.
“Our office is always looking for ways to offer as much security as possible to property owners,” said Kristin B. Connelly, Clerk-Recorder for Contra Costa County. “This real estate recording notification program, along with our partnership with the District Attorney’s office to protect homeowners from fraudulent transfers of ownership, offers an important layer of security to Contra Costa County property owners.
The launch of the real estate recording notification program is just one of the many ways that the Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder works tirelessly to ensure our residents are informed and protected from fraud.

Bay Area Health Officials Urge Measles Vaccination and Awareness as Cases Rise Nationally
Risk of exposure to measles in the Bay Area is currently low. However, with rising cases in the United States, getting the safe and highly effective vaccine is strongly encouraged for those not fully vaccinated.
Measles is a highly contagious virus that can cause serious illness and death, and the safe and highly effective measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine offers the best protection against the virus. Protect yourself by making sure each member of your family who is 12 months to 3 years old is vaccinated with one dose of MMR vaccine, and each person who is age 4 or older has gotten two doses of MMR vaccine.
Over 300 measles cases have been reported in the United States as of March 14, 2025. This includes a large outbreak among primarily unvaccinated children in Texas and nearby states. At this time, there have been two deaths. These were the first measles deaths in the United States since 2015.
There are five reported measles cases in California as of March 11, 2025. All five cases were separately reported after international travel, and there is no evidence they are connected to the outbreak in Texas.
How Measles Spreads and Symptoms
Measles spreads easily through the air when an infected person breathes, talks, coughs, or sneezes. If an infected person coughs or sneezes, the virus can linger in indoor air for several hours. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, and conjunctivitis (pink eye), followed 2-4 days later by a rash.
MMR Vaccine
One dose of the MMR vaccine is 93 percent effective against measles, and two doses are 97 percent effective. Individuals born between 1957 and 1969 are likely to have received only one dose and should consider getting a second dose. The MMR vaccine protects you for life and is widely available at provider offices, clinics, health systems and pharmacies.
