Community eNews | March 22, 2026

This week was an exciting one! DEI Council hosted their Multicultural Festival (a Kaleidoscope of Color); we celebrated RISE Week with the Break the Chain Dance in the Amp, and Thursday was St. Joseph's Day. Check out those photos and more on our SmugMug! We update it weekly.

A Message from the Dean of Faculty:

Dear Carondelet Community,

As always, Carondelet students have been busy working, learning, and achieving this quarter. From visual arts to scientific understanding to theatre and choral performances, our students have been showcasing their talents and gaining well-earned recognition for their hard work. We are always proud of the dedication and effort we see every day, whether or not there’s a prize attached, and we also want to celebrate the results of our students’ drive and passion. Here are a few highlights of our student groups’ accomplishments, as well as a preview of great things to come.

Theatre Students Shine at Thespian Festival – Last week, CHS and DLS student performers traveled to Pomona for the California State Thespian Festival, competing against students from across the state and earning top honors. Students showcased their talents in a variety of performance categories, including monologues, musical solos and duets, original dances, as well as technical categories such as costume design. In addition to competing, students had opportunities to take workshops with industry professionals, network with other high schools, and immerse themselves in all things Theatre.

Choir Travels to LA for National Festival – CHS and DLS Combined and Chamber Choirs make their annual trip to Anaheim, March 19–22, to participate in the WorldStrides Heritage Festival. Our vocalists have worked hard this year, and we know they’ll dazzle the judges!

Scientific Research Students Excel at County Science Fair – Nine CHS students presented their original research projects at the Contra Costa County Science & Engineering Fair on March 5–7. The students worked hard since August to design studies and gather data on a wide range of topics, and their efforts were recognized with every project winning 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place awards. Everyone will be able to see the results of their studies when our researchers present their projects at the STEAM Evening on Wednesday, April 29. Watch this space for more information!

Student Art on Display at Winton Arts Show, Thu. April 16 – The Winton Arts Show is a one-evening-only exhibit of student artworks on Thursday, April 16, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the LAPC lobby at De La Salle. Be sure to take this opportunity to discover students’ talents in this showcase of work using a range of media and artistic techniques. The reception for the Arts Show begins at 6:00 PM and coincides with opening night for the CHS/DLS Company performance of Little Shop of Horrors

Company Presents Little Shop of Horrors, beginning Thu. April 16 – Company is excited to present Little Shop of Horrors, brought to life by over 60 Company performers and technicians. Purchase your tickets here.

Updates from the Deans

Skirt Length Check-In

With the warmer weather, we’re seeing more skirts on campus. Please take a moment this weekend to ensure your daughter’s skirt aligns with our dress code. Skirts should fall below the fingertips (approximately 4 inches above the knee) and must be from Lands' End. Lululemon and other athleisure skirts are not permitted. As always, the primary responsibility for a student’s attire rests with the student and their parents/guardians. Multiple skirt length violations will result in the loss of skirt privileges. If your daughter needs a refresh, new skirts and skorts are available in our Lands' End store. We appreciate your support!

2026–27 Parking Permit Requests

Parking permit request links will be available starting Tuesday, April 14. The links will close on Friday, April 17. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate all student drivers. Priority is given in the following order:

  • Seniors
  • Juniors with carpools
  • Juniors driving individually

Please carefully review the instructions on the parking page to ensure your student follows the correct process. Additionally, parking permit request links will only accept submissions from Carondelet student email accounts.

Parking on Campus

Please note and discuss with your new student driver(s) that all campus parking spaces are reserved by a parking permit, and visitor parking is not for student usage.
