Community E-News l 03.23.25

On Saint Joseph's Day, we honored and celebrated St. Joseph, the husband of Mary and the father of Jesus. During Wednesday’s liturgy, CSJ Associate and Carondelet faculty member Michelle Koski led the Sisters of St. Joseph and CSJ Associates in the renewal of their vows. See more photos on SmugMug.

A Message from the Director of Enrollment & Engagement:

Dear Carondelet Community,

Spring is a season of renewal, and as we head into our week off for Spring Break, I hope you find time to rest, recharge, and enjoy this well-earned pause.

We are thrilled to officially welcome the Class of 2029! Admissions decisions went out on Friday, March 21, and we look forward to these future Cougars joining our sisterhood. If you know any of these excited 8th graders, please extend congratulations to them. Thank you for the role you play in making Carondelet such a special place. Your enthusiasm and support help us continue to grow a community rooted in heart, faith, courage, and excellence.

Looking ahead, re-enrollment for the 2025-26 school year will open the first week of April. You’ll receive an email from me with details and next steps, including instructions for completing your daughter’s re-enrollment contract and securing her place for next year. Re-enrollment contracts will be due by Thursday, May 1, and we encourage families to complete the process early to ensure a smooth transition into the upcoming school year. If you have any questions about the re-enrollment process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to help.

Wishing you all a wonderful and refreshing Spring Break!

Warmly,

Lesley Schooler ’96

Director of Enrollment & Engagement

Welcome Class of 2029!

Academics Update

Supporting Student Responsibility for Make-Up Testing

We want to ensure that all students have fair access to make-up testing opportunities. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a pattern of students reserving make-up test slots but not showing up, which prevents others from being able to schedule their tests.

To address this, we are reinforcing our policy: When students sign up for a make-up test, they are committing to that time. If they can no longer attend, they must provide at least 24 hours' notice so the spot can be made available to another student. Failure to do so may impact their ability to schedule future make-up tests.

We appreciate your support in encouraging students to take responsibility for their appointments and helping us maintain a fair and accessible system for all.

Locker Room Clean Out

Important Update on the Gym Locker Room

Our locker room renovation will start after Spring Break! Students should have cleared out all of their belongings and locks from the locker room on Friday, March 21. The locker room will be closed to all students after Friday, March 21 due to construction. Kinesiology teachers will instruct students where to change for classes. Contact Stephanie Cline with any questions.

Dress Code Reminder

Skirt Length & Approved Brands: Avoid Dress Code Violations

With the warmer weather, we’re seeing more skirts on campus. Please take a moment this weekend to ensure your daughter’s skirt aligns with our dress code. Skirts should fall below the fingertips (approximately four inches above the knee) and must be from Dennis Uniform or Lands' End. Lululemon and other athleisure skirts are not permitted. As always, the primary responsibility for a student’s attire rests with the student and their parents/guardians. Multiple skirt length violations will result in the loss of skirt privileges. If your daughter needs a refresh, new skirts and skorts are available in our Lands' End store. We appreciate your support!

Cultural Festival: Celebrating Our Roots

Friday, the Carondelet DEI Council and DLS Student Leaders hosted the 2025 Cultural Festival: Celebrating Our Roots! Over 30 student-led groups participated, offering food, games, music, and activities to CHS and DLS students, faculty, and staff. The festival also featured musical performances and dancing! It was a perfect way to learn more about what makes Carondelet and De La Salle such a vibrant community and to celebrate our students before they have time off for spring break! See more photos on SmugMug.

Model United Nations Club

The MUN Club Attended the UC Berkeley Model United Nations 73rd Conference

From March 7 to 9, Carondelet students participated in the UC Berkeley Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. This conference brings together high school students from across the nation in an immersive simulation of the actual United Nations. Carondelet students step into the shoes of ambassadors from member states to resolve global issues through debate and diplomacy. Our students represented the nations of Bulgaria, Palestine, and Poland while participating in committees which discussed issues such as: the Right of Return for Palestinian Refugees, potential military conflict in the South China Sea, and the weaponization of food.

If your have any questions about participating in Model United Nations, then please contact MUN Club Moderator Phil Miller.

The Power of Her

We’ve shared plans with the extended Carondelet community and now look forward to strong partnership and investment in this important project. The sooner we fund this campaign, the sooner our students will be in their new space, using it to maximize their promise and potential every day. This project is five months—start to finish—so if we fundraise fast we can break ground this spring and be ready to welcome students to the Boscacci Performance Center as they start school in the Fall.

The Power of Her takes the Power of Us… please reach out to your development team to continue the conversation, share ideas, and explore giving opportunities.

Thank you for using your power to empower her!
