OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI

Dear SRS Families,

Over the past week I have been writing to you nightly. If you have not received any of my email communication please check your Spam folder.  This Constant Contact will serve as my daily communication with you for today.  Today’s topic is the virtue of gratitude. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation.  To quote Melody Beattie, “gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

Despite what is going on in the world today we have so much to be grateful for and sometimes we don’t recognize it in the moment. So over the next few weeks I’d like us all to begin practicing gratitude by counting our blessings and writing them down in a journal or a gratitude jar.  Medical studies have shown that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less anxious and depressed. There is no time like the present to start.  As a place to begin I offer you and your family five ways to express gratitude for happiness and well being: journal; pray; write a thank you note; pay it forward and finally, practice self-care. By practicing gratitude together we will make our world a kinder and gentler one now and into the future.

If you are looking for something to do to help your child express gratitude and keep them occupied  as well, might I suggest the following activities:

·  Bear Hunt-place a teddy bear in any window of your home and ask your friends and neighbors to do the same. Children and parents can enjoy “bear hunting” by spotting all the neighborhood bears on their walks or rides.

·  Chalk your Walk- decorate your sidewalk or driveway with positive messages for your friends and neighbors to read.

·  Pray with the Family-end your day with family prayer-pray the Rosary, follow the Stations of the Cross or read the Bible.

Finally, I am extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff members at St. Rita School for their dedication to their students and parents, and all their hard work providing the best Catholic education possible. I am extremely grateful for our SRS parents for entrusting their child/ren to our care, and I am most extremely grateful for the beautiful students that God has chosen for me to educate. May God bless you and keep you and your family safe and well. I’ll reach out to you again on Friday to fill you in on our on-line school plans for April.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
Principal

FROM THE DESK OF MRS. BEERLI

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the second week of the virtual classroom. I know at this point while you are figuring out a routine for yourself and your children, it is also becoming increasingly difficult to juggle working from home with parenting and helping your child homeschool. I know this feels like a never ending situation with new developments daily and this is "inconvenient", but in the grand scheme of life please keep in mind this is temporary and the entire world is in it together. The most important thing right now is keeping ourselves and our families safe and healthy. Please find some links to articles below that specifically address the issues of juggling it all. They offer some great tips and resources to try and ease the stress a little bit. As always, I am available via email ( [email protected] ). Please feel free to reach out.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
